Designer Dejan Hristov has come up with a rendering of a Bugatti super-sedan that the board of the French-German manufacturer might take into consideration as the base for a newGalibier, the much-anticipated project that Bugatti CEO Wolfgang Durheimer has taken back to its early stage after the poor response to the first concepts.
The model idealized by Mr. Hristov has a 3-door configuration and is heavily influenced by the design of the Veyron (i.e. front grille, pop up spoiler, side view), but presents a number of features that would surely provide it with its own personality, such as the gullwing doors, the central exhaust pipes and the tail lights layout. No doubt it is an interesting design, and we actually find this one more appealing than Galibier’s first incarnation..

Bentley will produce an extreme version of its new coupe, which will probably be called Continental GT2. Despite the name, at the moment there are no plans for a future in GT racing for this car as it is an altogheter different project than the previous Supersport version. In an interview with AutoExpress, Bentley’s CEO Wolfgang Durheimer said that the new car is aimed at a more purist and demanding custom base, therefore the four-wheel drive will be dropped in favour of rear-wheel drive and a lot of work will be done to provide the GT2 with the best possible power-to-weight ratio.
The Continental GT2 should weight 2000 kg (200kg less than the standard model) and deliver more than 650hp (100hp more the regular coupe), although it is not clear whether this power will come from the already well known W12 engine or from a new enhanced version of the Twin Turbo V8 that was recently introduced by the latest Audi A6 and S8 models. However, it is believed that the Continental GT2 will have a 0-100km/h sprint time of less than four seconds and a top speed of 320km/h. GT2 aside, Bentley is planning to introduce a GT Speed version of the car as a more user-friendly alternative to the basic model. Last but not least, Durheimer also confirmed that -unlike the Supersport -the GT2 is going to be a four-seater as the 2 seats configuration is not considered the best option for this kind of vehicle.

Bugatti Galibier will be “significantly altered” from the concept car it was supposed to derive from. This is what Bugatti’s CEO Wolfgang Durheimer said in an interview to Autocar magazine about the launch of its super sedan, which was put on hold a few weeks back but is now underway again. “Galibier is currently going throug its second half of the design phase” and will be presented to VW’s bosses in its final version by Christmas. “There will be some remarkable changes from the original concept - Durheimer said - as the whole design will be quite different, especially from the B-pillar back, so that passenger compartment entry and exit operations will be easier, and room for legs on the backseat will also increase. Obviously, in order to achieve these results, the car will have to be a little longer. “
Durheimer also claims that the power of the engine will boast “at least 4 figures” and that “half of Veyron owners have already seen the new Galibier, although still in its concept form”. Bugatti’s new flagship will be unveiled in 2013 and will cost about 1.7 million Euros.
