Here are drawings of the new low-cost Skoda Felicia model which should go to competing directly with the Dacia Logan. We’ve seen some very stiff competition among luxury German sedans of late, but it seems the low-cost segment is heating up, too. The Skoda Felicia will debut in 2012 and will be the slightly larger version of the Skoda Fabia, thus filling a hole in the range with the larger dimensions of the new Skoda Octavia. These drawings propose the Felicia with a rear door made of glass which can transform the sedan into a station wagon.
The Skoda Superb also presented the innovative TwinDoor solution which allowed for two-way boot opening at the rear. Despite these kinds of modern solutions, the point of the Felicia is its low cost nature and so it won’t be adopting the Superb invention. These drawings actually come from an Italian industrial design student, but they look so close to the real thing we wouldn’t be surprised to see the new Felicia turn out something like this.

The Dacia Logan will have a new low-cost sedan competitor in its market soon, in the form of the new Skoda Felicia. It will replace the current Skoda Octavia Tour and will be based on the Roomster platform.
The Skoda Felicia will be 450 cm long with a wheelbase of 262 cm. The engine range will have the 1.4 with 80hp and 1.6 with 102 hp petrol engines. The diesel options will be the 1.6 TDI in both 90 and 105 hp.
Other news from Skoda includes the introduction of Start&Stop technology across the range and a new citycar based on the Volkswagen Up! model that is expected to debut in 2012. The next generation Skoda Octavia will appear in 2013, while there will also be a seven-seater version of the Yeti.
Other models that were originally touted for production, like the Skoda Fabia cabriolet and a new Touran-based MPV probably won’t be produced to avoid overlapping parent company’s Volkswagen range.
