Fiat 500 Roadster rendering

Fiat 500 Roadster rendering

More from our friend Theophilus Chin with this rendering of the Fiat 500 roadster. The Fiat 500 is successfully continuing its evolution, after the standard model was developed into the Abarth 500 and the Fiat 500C. Coming in the future will also be the Abarth 500C, and the much-expected US debut of the Fiat 500 in 2011.

The Fiat 500 in the US will be assembled at Fiat-Chrysler facilities in Mexico, which will also produce the 500 Giardineria, or 500 station wagon version. The Fiat 500 is aiming for further competition with the Mini and the broadening of the range will go blow-for-blow with the new Mini Coupe and Mini Roadster concepts presented at Frankfurt.

Alfa MiTo spider renderings

Alfa MiTo spider renderings

Can the Alfa MiTo get any sexier? Apparently so according to Theophiluschin who has given us this rending of a MiTo spider. It seems the designer is having fun with the open tops these days, after producing a rendering of the Bentley Mulsanne cabriolet, perhaps a more prestigious effort than the MiTo, but a little further from our reach.

The above rendering is the second on the MiTo spider theme after the two examples you see in the gallery below. They’re quite similar, but with a few differences that make for interesting comparison.

Bentley Mulsanne cabrio renderings

Here’s a look at a hypothetical Bentley Mulsanne cabrio and frankly, it’s not bad at all. The Bentley Mulsanne first appeared at the 2009 Frankfurt motor show last month, and it will soon be joined by a Mulsanne coupe version, likely in 2011. Which may in turn, be followed by a cabrio Mulsanne, an exciting prospect for the 6.75-litre V8 twin turbo with 512 hp and 1020 Nm of torque.

Alfa Milano renderings

Alfa Milano renderings

The guys at Quattroruote have been busy making these renderings of the new Alfa Milano, which after the factory spy shots, doesn’t leave much to the imagination. The Alfa Milano will be officially presented at the 2010 Geneva motor show, and may or may not make it to the US as part of the Fiat-Chrysler deal and Alfa US re-launch.

We can expect the Alfa Milano to be equipped with some impressive engine options, including Multiair technology to appear soon on the MiTo (not to mention a 1.7-litre engine with 230 hp). After the success of that hatch model, the Milano could prove to be even more significant for Alfa as it presents its new machine in a competitive sector of the market.

Opel city car Allegra rendering

By Alison

Render Opel Allegra

Here is a rendering of the possible Opel “Allegra”, future Opel city car model. In a crowded and competitive sector, it would compete with the Ford Ka, Volkswagen Up!, Fiat 500, Renault Twingo, and company. The car would appear directly below the Agila in the Opel product range, and would take on the role of entry-level Opel, with a price as low as 6,000 euros.

The Opel Allegra would be slightly longer than three metres, and would be built on a smaller version of the Agila or Corsa platform. Another hypothesis is that it could even be built by the General Motors Korea research and development division (possibly under the Chevrolet brand in the Asian market).

However, future Opel-GM collaboration would not occur if the Opel-Magna deal comes off, although GM may still seek influence for its Chevrolet models. The Opel Allegra city car could see a 2012-2013 debut.

Alfa 169 rendering

Alfa Romeo 169 render

These two renders of the new Alfa Romeo 169 show the sedan that will appear in 2011, according to the latest information regarding Alfa’s future release plans. The Alfa 169 should share the chassis of the new generation Chrysler 300C, and will have rear wheel drive - a decision generally prohibited by purist Alfa fans.

The new 169 should prove to be a pillar on which Alfa will base its return to the US market (planned for 2012). It will have to be perfect in every way, and pleasing to the American public. The look takes on a coupe-sedan look, described as “8C-Competizione oriented”, which adopts a similar look to an Audi A5 sportback or even the new Jaguar XJ.

The Alfa MiTo and Milano have also taken on new Alfa styles, and the 166 should also improve on the current Alfa sedan look. These are only renderings though, and the interior is also unknown. Based on what the Milano is likely to have, we could see something more minimalist than the 166 but it will depend on how family-oriented the 169 will be.

Porsche Panamera station wagon

Render Porsche Panamera Station Wagon

With this Panamera station wagon render could it be that the Porsche Panamera is becoming even more niche? Or is it leaving its self-made niche to join other niches? While this is likely to be a “fake” render and we don’t think we’ll see this in production anytime soon, Theophilus Chin has tried his hand anyway.

While I’m more convinced of a Panamera cabriolet, this is just plain ugly, to give my two cents. Surely there are limits to increasing sales figures? We’ll trust that Porsche keeps to its sports tradition and leaves this Panamera station wagon in the realms of web renders.

Alfa Romeo Giulia render

Alfa Romeo Giulia - render Motor Trend

These renders from Motor Trend show one interpretation of the future Alfa Giulia, to appear on the European market in 2011. Some collaboration with Chrysler may occur on the new model, but for the moment we’ll have to withstand the mystery, with no news regarding the platform, engine options and transmission currently available.

The fascination of Alfa style and the new models headed for the US are stirring up significant interest in that market, paving the way for a possible appearance of the Giulia. At this stage the Alfa Romeo models planned for the US through the Fiat-Chrysler deal are the MiTo and the Milano.

Jaguar XJ coupè in the making

By Alison

Jaguar XJC render

A Jaguar XJ coupè is in the making, with an XJC version already been sketched by Jaguar’s design team. The XJ coupè could feature a full length glass roof, 21-inch alloys, and the same high-tech interior of the XJ sedan.

The design is currently under the pencil of Ian Callum and his design team, who have reworked the Jaguar style over recent years to get back to a really classy look. The original Jaguar XJC was around between 1975 and 1978, and has become a classic car for Jaguar fans. For further details, and an interview with Ian Callum, see Sky Motoring News.

Alfa Romeo Milano renderings

nuovi render Alfa Romeo Milano

While on the subject of renderings, Project940 has created these computer generated images of the likely final look Alfa Milano. We saw some definitive Milano spy shots recently, and the studio has worked on cutting down the reflection and improving resolution to produce these quite reliable renderings.

The aspect is still a little cartoonish and certainly the front reminds me a lot of the MiTo. The rear render is better, as the three quarter shot is too elongated to be natural. Whatever the case, after these and the spy shots, Alfa fans waiting for the Milano are likely at fever pitch by now.

Saab 9-5 rendering

render Saab 9-5

This is a lovely looking reconstruction of the future Saab 9-5 from the Swedish, showing off the elegant and well designed style that could herald success in a time of need for Saab.

The new 9-5 will share the Opel Insignia platform, but will have a slightly longer wheel base, though keeping the all-wheel drive. According to Autocar, plans for the Sport Combi project are also already underway.

Porsche 928 rendering

By Alison

Render Nuova Porsche 928

Here’s the first render of a possible new look for the Porsche 928, whose modern reworking is particularly favoured by head designer at Porsche, Michael Mauer. The future coupé in this attempt is certainly more original that a previous look.

The idea to develop an heir to the 928 is part of Porsche’s move to compete in a greater number of segments, such as the four seater coupé GT. The new 928, whose name is still undecided, will compete with the likes of the Bentley Continental GT and the Aston Martin DBS. In the meantime however, some technical and style elements have been revealed, including the fact that it will be three door coupé based on the Porsche Panamera, perhaps even adopting the engine of the Panamera.
