New Citroen C1 rendering

New Citroen C1 rendering

If the new Citroen C1 turned out like this rendering, it could be a hot little model in its segment. The new C1 is set to appear in 2012 and will be part of a joint venture, being developed with Peugeot and Toyota who will offer the 108 and Aygo models. All three models will be assembled at the Kolin plant in the Czech Republic.

The new Citroen C1 could prove to be a mini muscle car as this rendering suggests. It will have a new three-cylinder, 1.0-litre engine with 75 hp to replace the current one from Daihatsu origin. It should also be available with a three-cylinder, 1.2 THP engine with 135 hp which has been developed with BMW.

The big news is though, that the new C1 should get a full rear door that can be opened in place of the current window, making this small car more practical. 2012 is a little way off so we’ll have to wait and see what other details emerge in the meantime.

Alfa Milano renderings

Alfa Milano renderings

The guys at Quattroruote have been busy making these renderings of the new Alfa Milano, which after the factory spy shots, doesn’t leave much to the imagination. The Alfa Milano will be officially presented at the 2010 Geneva motor show, and may or may not make it to the US as part of the Fiat-Chrysler deal and Alfa US re-launch.

We can expect the Alfa Milano to be equipped with some impressive engine options, including Multiair technology to appear soon on the MiTo (not to mention a 1.7-litre engine with 230 hp). After the success of that hatch model, the Milano could prove to be even more significant for Alfa as it presents its new machine in a competitive sector of the market.

Opel city car Allegra rendering

By Alison

Render Opel Allegra

Here is a rendering of the possible Opel “Allegra”, future Opel city car model. In a crowded and competitive sector, it would compete with the Ford Ka, Volkswagen Up!, Fiat 500, Renault Twingo, and company. The car would appear directly below the Agila in the Opel product range, and would take on the role of entry-level Opel, with a price as low as 6,000 euros.

The Opel Allegra would be slightly longer than three metres, and would be built on a smaller version of the Agila or Corsa platform. Another hypothesis is that it could even be built by the General Motors Korea research and development division (possibly under the Chevrolet brand in the Asian market).

However, future Opel-GM collaboration would not occur if the Opel-Magna deal comes off, although GM may still seek influence for its Chevrolet models. The Opel Allegra city car could see a 2012-2013 debut.

Ferrari 458 Spider rendering

Ferrari 458 spider renderings

Here are new renders of the Ferrai 458 Spider, after confirmations that the brand new Ferrari 458 Italia would be made in an open-top version in the future. The 458 Spider will appear a couple of years down the track, likely picking up from where the California leaves off. These renderings are probably a bit premature, in light of the couple of years waiting time we all have, but there’s no harm in dreaming.

Opel Astra GTC sport hatch drawing

By Alison

Nuova Opel Astra - prime immagini ufficiali

While this draft rendering is probably a little exaggerated in how fat the car looks, the new Opel Astra GTC will be very similar to this official drawing. The Astra GTC is expected on the market in 2011, and design head Malcolm Ward has said that the evolution will be radical. In fact, expect a far more “outlandish” shape than the five-door model.

Ward says: “It will be a very dramatic execution and very, very close to the sketch. Think about the current three-door then think about where the new car will go.” The new Astra Sport Hatch will have some very smooth lines, and has spent more than 600 hours in the wind tunnel to improve its aerodynamics.

Mercedes E 63 AMG Station Wagon render

Mercedes E 63 AMG Station Wagon: ecco il suo aspetto definitivo

Here’s a rendering of the Mercedes E 63 AMG Station Wagon, giving us an idea of what the final product might look like. The guys at Motorendering have designed this image of the sports model station wagon.

The E 63 Station is going to be more than just your average family wagon, though the engine choice won’t be anything over-the-top. It will be equipped with a 6.2-litre V8 AMG at 525 hp and 630 Nm, which is more than enough to get the kids to school and enjoy the drive while you’re at it.

The new Speedshift MCT transmission will be used, featuring seven speeds and steering wheel paddle. The wet multidisc clutch present on the SL63 will be included, with the four modes: Controlled Efficiency, Sport, Sport Plus and Manual. Throttle-blipping and AMG Drive Unit will be part of the package.

Volkswagen Passat rendering

Sarà così la prossima Volkswagen Passat?

The next Volkswagen Passat is back in the spotlight after recent spy shots that show the Passat testing being done. Now a rendering has been made of its possible look, likely inspired by the Passat CC such that it may not reflect the ultimate style of the new car.

In any case, the new Volkswagen Passat is said to be less soporific than the current model, and closer to the evolution in Volkswagen design seen on the Golf VI. The debut is still unknown and currently sits at either an early presentation in 2010, or originally accepted date of 2012. Who knows?

John Cooper Works Mini Crossover render

By Alison

render Mini Crossover John Cooper Works

From 2010, Mini will have its own Crossover version and from 2012, that crossover will in turn have its own John Cooper Works version. So in a leap of imagination, Autocar has produced this rendering of a John Cooper Works crossover, that will be equipped with the current turbo engine with a few extra horse power and one aim: to challenge the Golf GTI.

The challenge could also see a low blow from BMW in the form of an all wheel drive version, in addition to reports that a range of three different crossover models is being developed.

Alfa Romeo Milano interior renderings

By Alison

render interni Alfa Romeo Milano

These renderings of a possible interior of the Alfa Romeo Milano, show a minimalist Alfa style inspired by the past and models such as the Giulia GT.

The renderings come from the guys at Progetto940, and we imagine they’ve already seen the finished product, given that this effort is quite similar to the final style. The look takes on more classic elements with strong, horizontal lines.

Rolls-Royce 200 EX: render delle varianti coupé e cabriolet

The guys at GlobalMotors have put together these renderings of the Rolls Royce 200 EX derived coupé and cabriolet, which we can expect to see in a production model after the concept presented at the Geneva show.

The Rolls Royce concept from Geneva is the preview to a model to be produced from 2010, which should take the name of Sliver Ghost, an old label from 1906.

The models should take on the same components from the sedan, which may see the arrival of a V12 petrol powerplant. In which case, the much-talked about adoption of a turbodiesel shouldn’t be excluded.

Volkswagen Touareg: rendering for new generation

By Alison

The above is a new digital rendering for the second generation Volkswagen Touareg, put together by the guys from Motorauthority.

Their interpretation of the new SUV shows influence from the Tiguan, with a natural evolution of the Touareg in clean lines and no excessive additions.

The influence of Audi in the lights can be seen, but the design still remains undoubtedly that of a VW. The model will present the new platform from VW-Porsche on the base of which the new Porsche Cayenne and the Audi Q7 will be built. The range of engines is unlikely to receive any radical updates, with only the possible addition of a V6 3.0L twin turbo diesel from Audi.

New Volvo S60 rendering

By Alison

render nuova Volvo S60

This rendering from AutoWeek of the Volvo S60 shows some risky style elements that form part of the general visual experiment. It appears that the S60 as a medium sedan is still choosing between a muscular look or a more elegant and traditional sedan look.

The family feeling introduced by the XC60, with its threating nose and elongated headlights, manages to unite with apparent harmony the sports sedan dilemma. Its debut is expected for the next Detroit motor show where it will appear as a concept car.
