Renault Laguna Coupe Model Year 2012

By Adrian

Renault Laguna Coupé MY 2012

Three years after its debut, a revamped version of Renault Laguna Coupe has been presented at the Bologna Motor Show in view of its debut on the market in 2012. The model now boasts modern LED day lights, 17″ wheels for the whole range, an Energy Smart Management (ESM) system that improves fuel consumption an CO2 emissions, sat-nav and AUX, USB and Bluetooth connectivity.

Renault Laguna Coupé Model Year 2012 will be available with two diesel units: a 2.0 litre dCi - in power steps of 150 and 175 hp - and a 3.0 litre V6 dCi delivering 240 hp. These engines will get their power transferred to the front axle through a 6 speed manual or automatic transmission. Thanks to the ESM system, the CO2 emission of the 150 hp configuration will go down from 149 to 126 g/km, while the 175 hp and 240 hp models also got better from that point of view although no official figures on the subject are currently available. Renault will also release two special editions of the model called Monaco GP and Monaco GP Racing.

The Monaco GP will come with 18″ Chrome Shadow alloys and black Nero Nacré roof, and it is basically a slightly modified edition of the current version of the Laguna Coupe bearing the same name. The Monaco GP Racing is based on the dCi 150 hp model and will be produced in 49 units only: all of them will come with manual gearbox and can be ordered on-line from the 3rd of December. Standard equipment of this version will include the 4Control chassis (with all four wheels steering), matt black paintjob, metalized black roof and wing mirror covers and exclusive aerodynamic bodykit. To put the proverbial icing on the cake, all 49 owners will be invited to a driving course that will have them sitting in the cockpit of a Formula 3 racecar.

New Renault Laguna restyling at 2010 Paris motor show

By Alison

Renault Laguna restyling

The new Renault Laguna has been revealed ahead of the 2010 Paris Motor Show to start at the end of this month. A new Laguna style sees modifications to the front grille and bumper on the hatchback and station wagon models, and on the technical front we get new Euro 5-compliant engines.

The new Laguna sedan has been updated to try and boost sales of a flagging model, but there’s no real indication as to whether this will happen or not. New interior updates will most likely include a navigation system, Bose sound system and new trim as the Laguna modernises on the inside.

No further information is currently available as more will come from the Paris show, but this model is expected to go on sale already in November this year. We’ll bring you more pics and updates from Paris.

Renault Latitude video and more pics

By Alison

This video of the Renault Latitude gives us the full going-over of the new, and very large, flagship sedan for the company that was presented at the Moscow International Motor Show. The Latitude is planned to be sold in 50 markets, standing with Russia and other ‘emerging’ markets. It measures 4.88 x 1.83 x 1.48 metres and is available initially with two petrol engines: a four-cylinder, 2.0-litre with 139 hp and 191 Nm of torque, and the more powerful 2.5-litre V6 with 177 hp and 233 Nm.

Those engines, while limited, are impressive but won’t be available on the European-spec Latitude which will instead have either four or six-cylinder units previously used on the Renault Laguna. They will likely be available with both manual and automatic six-speed transmission and the car itself should get a touch-up in the luxury department.

Renault Safrane to replace Laguna

By Alison

Renault Safrane

While the new Renault Safrane was originally earmarked to replace the Vel Satis, it seems that job is already being done by the new Renault Latitude. The Safrane does, however, still have a role in the Renault line-up, and looks like it will in fact, replace the Renault Laguna. In the same way the Peugeot 508 will substitute both the 407 and 607, the Renault Safrane was set to combine the Vel Satis and the Laguna in one.

It now looks like the Latitude will form the luxury part of the Renault sedan line-up, and will be placed slightly above the Safrane, which will probably be a more family-friendly economical model. The Safrane will have the same platform as the Laguna, also shared with the Samsung SM5 and now the Latitude as well.

It seems the Safrane will originally be produced in South Korea before production moves to France at a later date. Given the new Daimler deal, the Safrane could also sport a couple of four and six-cylinder engines from Mercedes, which would be something appealing to see also on the new Latitude. Safrane spy shots are over on Automarket for you to take a look.

New image galler for the Renault Laguna GT

By Alison

Renault Laguna GT

After the relatively quiet debut at the Geneva show, Renault is revealing new technical data and photos of its Laguna Gt, all-wheel steering version that has already been ordered by more than 50,000 customers across Europe.

The model’s main innovation is the 4 Wheel Steering system called “Active Drive“, looking for new life after years being in the dark: up to 60km/hr the rear wheels turn in the opposite direction to the front ones with a maximum angle of 3.5°.

Renault Laguna Coupè - teaser

By Administrator

Renault Laguna Coupe - teaser

A new Renault coupè is coming, based on the Laguna III. An image was seen during the presentation of the new saloon, and Car Magazine got a snap. Then, someone from the Planète Renault forums managed to make a full view of the rear of the upcoming coupè. We should hear more about it in Frankfurt next month, but a concept version should be shown at the next Geneva auto show (march ‘08) and the production version should be shown in Paris next autumn.

The ispiration for the design of the coupè should come from the 2004 Fluence concept.

From a mechanical standpoint there should be no major differences between the Laguna III and the new coupè, besides, probably, a better choice of top engines: the 2.0-liter turbo engines (diesel with 148 ps, gasoline with 168 ps) should be joined by a new 3.0-liter turbodiesel unit outputting 240 ps and the 3.5 V6 engine of the 350Z, the Nissan cousin of this new coupè. Prices should start from 30.000 €.
