Porsche Cayman R vs Nissan GT-R (video)

By Adrian

Unique Cars magazine has released a video documenting a test where they put two much revered modern cars against each other, namely the Porsche Cayman R and the Nissan GT-R. The German model can be considered as the ultimate evolution of the famous coupe line, with better performance and handling than the already brilliant ‘S’ version, whereas the Japanese contender is - simply put - the ‘car to beat’, the one that since its debut in 2007 has been continuously thrilled the car enthusiasts all world over the world with its astonishing performance as well as a price that makes all its challengers cringe in disbelief.

These two cars are quite different from each other: the Porsche uses a mid-mounted naturally aspirated engine and a rear wheel drive architecture while the Nissan unleashes the power of its V6 to the ground through an advanced all-wheel drive configuration. Therefore their clash is somewhat like putting tradition against innovation, agility against brute strength, and the outcome is not as predictable as you might think. The video is pretty self explanatory and the verdict is not based on performance figures alone, as it should be. Definitely worth watching.
