Here are some new spy shots picturing the much anticipated Porsche 991 GT3, the new supercar from the German carmaker that is expected to debut by the end of the current year. This mule was spotted while doing some winter testing on snowy roads (surely not the most natural habitat for the car), proving that Porsche is working on a car that can deliver in any situation, not only in the relative safety of a racetrack.

The pictured prototype isn’t wearing too much camouflage, allowing us to appreciate some interesting features like the classic GT3 front bumper and the centered twin exhaust pipes. The model is also sporting a small pop-up rear wing, but we really doubt that it will be that small on the final version of the car. A few days ago it was announced that the new GT3 will come with only one kind of transmission, but these shots do not help to shed any light on the matter. To find out whether the final choice will be a 7-speed manual or Porsche’s trademark 7-speed PDK ‘dual clutch’ gearbox we will have to wait for some official statement.

As for the engine, it will be a 3.8-litre 6-cylinder boxer unit, which is expected to produce something like 450 hp, meaning 30 hp more than the Carrera S and 15 more than its predecessor, the 997 GT3. Thus, the new Porsche 991 GT3 is expected to burn the 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in less than 4 seconds.
