The French have made some very smooth-looking concept cars over the last couple of years, with models like the Citroen Survolt and Peugeot EX1. Peugeot is back at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show with a new concept - a brand new six-seater, plug-in hybrid MPV which takes on recent design language from the brand, such as the Peugeot 508.

On the new Mercedes B-Class being released, we’ve talked of the new battle taking place in the MPV segment, and this good looking HX1 Metamorphosis takes that one step further. Combining Peugeot’s latest Hybrid4 technology, we get a sloping, limousine-like MPV with plenty of space on the inside.

The HX1 Metamorphosis is 4.95 metres long, 1.37 metres tall and 1.99 metres wide. The four-door design is one that opens slightly upwards, further contributing to its limousine looks. Passenger seats are in three rows and the driver gets special easy access treatment with a completely movable steering wheel that can also be adjusted when the car is moving.
