The new Peugeot 508 RXH, premiered at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, has made its debut on the international market with a Limited Edition series, of which only 300 models have been built. The French manufacturer has announced today that this special series, which has been made available in 12 European countries (France, Germany, Great Britain, Spain, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium, Luxemburg, Portugal, Austria and Poland) has sold out in just 3 days.
The demands, as highlighted by Peugeot, have exceeded the supply. The customers who were left out this time around will have to make do with standard RXH models, expected in spring 2012.
The Limited Edition model, which went on sale on the French Market with a notable € 48,950 price tag, offers Alcantara and leather upholstery, heated electric memory seats, quad-zone automatic climate control, Hi-Fi JBL pack, Xenon headlight, electric hatchback, 18″ forged aluminium rims as well as front and rear parking assistance.

Alongside the Peugeot HX1 Metamorphosis concept at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, we’ll also get the Peugeot 508 RXH official launch. The good looking model is Peugeot’s version of a station wagon-soft offroader crossover with the same hybrid diesel technology as the 3008. The RXH is like Peugeot’s upmarket version of the 508 range as it will have added luxuries like LED lights.
The 508 RXH interior is also plusher than the other models, with its own colour range and luxury materials such as a copper trim and Alcantara seats. It also gets “Intelligent Electronic Key”, electronic front seats, colour head-up display, 18-inch wheels, Ciel panoramic roof and a new navigation and infotainment system.
The Peugeot 508 RXH comes only in the Hybrid4 option with the 2.0 HDi engine and electric motor producing 200 hp and 450 Nm of torque on an all-wheel drive platform. Peugeot claims an average fuel consumption of 4.2 litres/100 km and CO2 emissions of 109 g/km. Sales will start in 2012.
Here are the first pics of the Peugeot 508 RXH, the new diesel-hybrid from the company. The hybrid drive set-up is the same as that used on the 3008 Hybrid4, and the new diesel entry in the hybrid range will appear on the RXH softroader, which is available only as a station wagon model.
The SUV-like vehicle gets 200 hp, 163 of which come from the 2.0 HDi unit, and the other 37 from the electric motor. The 508 has the same all-wheel drive set-up, with the electric motor placed on the rear axle and driving the rear wheels. Torque reaches 450 Nm. For short range, the electric motor can work independently, but overall CO2 emissions are 109 g/km and fuel consumption is 4.2 l/100 km.
Peugeot is fitting its 508 RXH with range-topping packages and options. It has electronically adjustable seats, head-up display, 18-inch wheels, panoramic roof and tinted windows. The 508 RXH hybrid will go on show at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show and will be on sale internationally from spring 2012.
