Pagani Zonda R new video

By Alison in: Videos Super cars

The Pagani Zonda R appears in this new video and frankly, the blood really does just go to your head on seeing it. The video is very cinematographic although its main purpose is to highlight the track focus of the new Pagani. We get to see the Zonda R from all angles, but more importantly we get some serious track action. Check it out in the video.

Pagani Zonda Tricolore live at Geneva 2010

Pagani has presented both the Zonda Tricolore and the Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster, one of five examples made, at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. Contrary to previous announcements that the Tricolore would be a one-off, Pagani has confirmed that the Zonda Tricolore will in fact, be made in three units. The model derives from the Cinque Roadster, also on show, with its exclusive tint and amazing airscoop feeding to the the V12 engine with 680 hp.

One-off Pagani Zonda Tricolore pics: Geneva motor show preview

By Alison in: Super cars

One-off Pagani Zonda Tricolore pics

The Pagani Zonda Tricolore will debut at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, and in the gallery below you can see the preview pics of the Tricolore. This Zonda is dedicated to Italy’s famous air force jet fighter aerobatics team, the “Frecce Tricolore”, who will celebrate their 50th anniversary in 2011.

Aside from the fact that a Pagani Zonda will always be an iconic supercar, the Tricolore is striking for its amazing livery. Based on the Zonda Cinque, it’s built from a carbonfibre-titanium structure. It is a one-off, unpainted example that has a clear blue lacquer finish and Italy’s red, white and green stripes up the nose, reflecting the MB-339 jets used in aerobatics displays.

Compared to the Zonda Cinque, it has extra air vents and LED daytime lights. It could be your last chance to get a Zonda before it’s replaced by the Pagani C9 later this year; but at 1.3 million euros it’s really anyone’s guess as to who the one lucky person will be who can actually afford it. Even the photo of the Tricolore ‘cockpit’ is worth seeing!

Video: Pagani Zonda R takes a road trip

By Alison in: Videos Super cars

It might be a car officially suitable only for track use, but we think no-one will object to a small road appearance for the Pagani Zonda R. And so the people of San Cesario sul Panaro got to hear a smooth V12 AMG baritone cruising their streets. Check out the video.

Pagani Zonda PS: a unique specimen for a hard-to-satisfy English client

By Julia in: Super cars

Pagani Zonda PS

In the past weeks there was talk of a special new version of the Zonda, but really there was just model produced because of a request for a unique specimen. The Zonda PS was commissioned by an English client who apparently was not sufficiently attracted by a “simple” Zonda F and who was not able to grab himself a Zonda Cinque.

This Zonda PS is derived from the Zonda F but with modified tail pipes, similar rims to those found on the Zonda R, exclusive paint work and, it seems, the sequential shift transmission that we’ll see shortly on the new C9.

Pagani Zonda R and Zonda Cinque shots from Geneva

By Alison in: Super cars

There’s nothing like an affable manager to really give you a tour of a supercar, and in the case of Pagani at the Geneva show, we got lucky again with the warm nature of Horacio. We got to have a look under the bonnet of the Zonda R and Zonda Cinque, which he opened for us.

On seeing the engine, it doesn’t take much to imagine the emotion that the six litre, V12 Mercedes-AMG motor can give. It’s capable of 750hp and 710Nm (with 150hp actually culled to ensure durability and trustworthy performance driving). The Pagani supercar reaches 100 km/hr in just 2.7 seconds, weighs 1070 kg and has a top speed of 350 km/hr. All this for a whopping 1,460,000 euros. But if we had the money…

Pagani Zonda R: new pics

By Alison in: Super cars

Pagani Zonda R - nuove immagini

Despite envying the owners, we love this car, and it’s definitely the case to thank the designers and engineers from Pagani for its exquisite Zonda R, seen here in further photos distributed by Pagani.

The 16 vehicles to be produced (one of which will remain in the company) will be sold for around 1.4 million euros, meaning none of us is ever likely to purchase one. The figure is, though, appropriate for a car of this performance: 739 hp from the V12 six-litre engine in a vehicle that made from carbon fibre, weighs only 1,070 kilos.

We can always dream of a ride in a Pagani Zonda R, but until then, enjoy the Zonda R gallery below.

Pagani Zonda R: first live shots

By Alison in: Super cars

Pagani Zonda R

Here are some of the first shots of the Pagani Zonda R, presented at the luxury show in Vienna and appearing more like a sculpture than a car. Horacio has even revealed that one of the first customers confessed his desire to exhibit the car in his lounge room, rather than actually drive it.

What else to say then? The length measures 394mm and the width has also been increased, compared to “less” exclusive versions, while the weight still sits at 1,100 kg. Never was carbon so appreciated.

And then there’s the V12 6.0 litre engine at 705hp which will transport you into hyperspace at just 3.2 seconds to hit 100 km/hr, and a top speed of 400 km/hr. The price also inhabits its own twilight zone of 1.4 million euros. I wonder if the customer will reconsider his choice to place it in the living room. More shots after the jump.

Video: Ferrari, Porsche and Maserati challenge the Pagani Zonda F at the Ring

By Alison in: Ferrari Maserati Porsche Videos

This superb meet of Supercars, in occasion of a track test at the Nurburgring certainly says something about the current panorama of the supercar sector: three of the four cars are no longer in production and, in theory, are waiting for the heirs to take their place. The Porsche Carrera GT, Ferrari Enzo and Maserati MC12 are still considered benchmarks for their brands, and in this video (in German) they challenge the Pagani Zonda F Clubsport.

Unfortunately I don’t speak German (but if anyone does, feel free to help us out with a translation!), so I can’t give you the final conclusions, which appears to be something intriguing about the Maserati. But if you want to see some high speed supercar driving and a nice comparison of the different styles up close, this is a good video.

Pagani Zonda R new images

Pagani Zonda R rendering

New images of the Pagani Zonda R have been released, showing the extreme track vehicle with its V12 AMG six-litre engine, at 750hp. Until today we had only admired it in its scale model, but these official renders mean we can see some details.

The aerodynamic frame has been redically modified compared to the base project: with a generous aircoop, the rear has undergone the most changes, lengthened and slimmed. The light range has seen some transformation along with air intakes and a large wing.

Ten units of the Zonda R will be made, at a price of 1.2 million euros. That’s still five more units than the Zonda 5, which can be considered the most rare Zonda built. It’s a busy time for Pagani, who is also working on the new C9.

Pagani Zonda Cinque: new official images

By Alison in: Coupe Super cars

Pagani Zonda Cinque

The Pagani Zonda Cinque is already making fans dream: only five examples will be made, 700 hp, high tech aerodynamics and road performance that’s the stuff of legend. While we haven’t got a lot of technical details to share, we’re keeping our eye on this limited edition, sister of the future Zonda R, by showing some new images.

The black, silver red livery could be the only available for this model, which is highly important for its power and also because it will probably be the swan song for the Zonda road model before the debut of the new car that will abandon the V12 AMG, in favour of a V8, possibly twin-turbo, of German origin.

Pagani Zonda Cinque: perfect number, perfect car

By Alison in: Tuning Super cars

Pagani Zonda Cinque

Gimme five, Horacio, as with this little number you have really outdone yourself: 750hp, 710Nm of torque and 0-200 km/hr in only 9.8 seconds. Everything else is just boring. The name itself - Pagani Zonda Cinque - shows its essential exclusivity: the facilities at san Cesario sul Panaro will make only five units, destined to hit figures dangerously close to one million euros. The Cinque, designed for road use, represents the branded version of the Zonda R, which still hasn’t been officially presented and headed only for the track.

In expectation of the new Zonda, revolutionised after its V8 engine, this version offers a V12 7.3 litre motor, likely to get the competitors’ claws out: a teté a teté is set for the Ferrari FXX and the Maserati MC12 Versione Corse.

The look of the car has been touched up and reflects that of the Zonda R, with new aerodynamics and the airscoop, that carries engine air over the driver’s compartment. This little jewell will cost around 800,000 euros.

With thanks to our readers for the news.
