Nissan is going to launch a Platinium Edition of the X-Trail 4×4, the compact crossover SUV on sale in Europe since 2001 that shares the same platform with the North American models called Rogue and Sentra. This new special edition will be marketed in the in the United Kingdom only and can be distinguished from the regular version by the extra protection plates on front and rear bumpers and its chrome side steps. In the cabin the Platinum Edition uses leather trim and electric adjustable heated front seats, touch-screen infotainment system with satellite navigation and Bluetooth-iPod connectivity, and a back-up camera displayed in the rearview mirror.
The Nissan X-Trail Platinum Edition will come with a 2.0 dCi diesel engine coupled to either an automatic or a manual transmission. With the latter option, the unit produces 171 hp with an average fuel consumption of 6.4 l/100km. Only 200 units of this special limited edition will be produced, each one with a price tag of 30,000 £ (about 47,000 $ / 36,000 €).
