Nissan Juke Candy-Red Tzunamee by Senner Tuning

By Adrian

Nissan Juke by Senner Tuning

The good people from German tuner Senner Tuning are mostly known for their work on cars coming from their own homeland, but this time they turned their attention to a jap, the Nissan Juke crossover, and the result is this cool rendition dubbed ‘Candy-Red Tzunamee’. As the name suggests, the model comes with a flashy red paint scheme completed by a bright set of color matching 20″ alloys as well as a pair of wing mirrors made of carbon fibre.

The bright red theme continues in the passenger compartment, where the logo of the tuner can be spotted here and there. Captivating look aside, the most relevant changes are those who affected the mechanical part: the standard 1.6-litre unit of the Juke is credited with an output of about 190 hp with 240 Nm of peak torque, but the modifications performed by Senner Tuner boosted that up to 225 hp with 275 Nm of maximum torque. At the moment, the price-tag for this model is still undisclosed.

Nissan Juke-R: the super crossover will be costing a whopping £365,000

By Elxwave

Remember the Nissan Juke-R, the experiment of automotive engineering that has transformed the tame Juke into a monster with 545 hp capable of reaching a speed of 257 km/h? After presenting it in Dubai, the Japanese carmaker decided to produce the super crossover in very limited edition at a price of around £365,000.

The website Inside Line has quoted David Reuter, vice president of Nissan Americas, who explained how the model will be produced on a build-to-order basis at a cost of $ 590,000. “It is intended for serious collectors and investors who want to own a true original, an innovative project that will only be created in extremely small numbers.”

The Juke’s body was heavily modified to accommodate the engine and chassis of the supercar Nissan GT-R my2012. The first models will be delivered late this summer.

Nissan Juke-R limited edition goes into production

By Elxwave

Foto Nissan Juke R

Nissan will produce a limited edition of the Juke-R with improved mechanical features, compared to the first prototypes. The 2007 Nissan GT-R twin-turbo V6 engine with output of 485hp that was fitted on the concept cars will be replaced with the upgraded unit mounted on the GT-R my2012 and capable of delivering an impressive 545hp.

The Juke-R with 485hp covered the 0-100Km/h in 3.7 seconds with a maximum speed of 257km/h: Nissan officially confirmed the top speed data; however, it never validated the acceleration figures that should be, strictly speaking, lower. Besides the engine, the production version of the Juke-R will sport a new gearbox and will use the same drivetrain and chassis of the powerful GT-R my2012, to make the most of the extra 60hp.

Nissan has decided to create a limited edition after the amazing reaction the car had during the presentation in Dubai, where the Japanese carmaker has already received three orders that will be shipped by the end of summer. The price of the car is still unknown, but if you want more info or want to make an offer, Nissan has created an email address for this purpose: juke-r@nissan.co.uk

Nissan to recall almost 30,000 Juke in the US

By Adrian

Nissan Juke: la nostra prova su strada

Nissan is about to recall 28,294 Nissan Juke built in between April 9, 2010 and May 12, 2011 because - according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration - the vehicle could stall without warning. Apparently, the turbocharger boost sensor bracket may separate from the air inlet tube due to a defective weld, and if it does the vehicle could stall without warning, increasing the risk of an accident. Nissan said it is “aware of several stalling incidents in foreign countries,” in documentation filed with the federal safety agency, but also pointed out that all other Nissan and Infiniti vehicles are not affected by the issue as they do not use the same air inlet tube.

The recall will begin in January. At the moment it is still unclear whether the problem is also concerning the Jukes outside the US.

Nissan introduces the Juke Nismo Concept

By Adrian

In the wake of the outstanding response of the public to its extreme Juke-R project, Nissan Motor Co. introduces a spiced up version of the Juke tuned up by its sports division Nismo, called Juke Nismo Concept. The car has been officially unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show, and clearly comes across as a premium sports version of the successful SUV.

The model uses a pearl white livery with red and black inserts enhanced by Nismo’s specifically designed bodykit, which comprises redesigned front and rear bumpers, larger arch wheels and side skirts. The front grill has a different pattern, while the rear spoiler received two side elements that improve its dynamic behavior, same reason for which the wing mirror shells have been modified too. Besides, the Juke Nismo Concept is equipped with 19″ alloys, has a lowered right height and stiffer suspension setting.

The car is powered by an upgraded and more performing version of the standard turbocharged 1.6-litre direct injection gasoline engine, although Nismo did not reveal what they did to this unit. No performance figure are available at the moment either. The interior of this Concept car is also quite different from the standard Juke as elements such as steering wheel, pedals, gauges, shifter knob and door trims have been redisigned to have them more suitable to the sporty approach of the car. Chief Product Specialist for Nissan Juke Chiaki Sumi said that if the feedback to the Juke Nismo Concept will be good enough, it might actually hit production and go on sale in the future.

Nissan Juke-R: official video available

By Adrian

Following the release of the official photo gallery, Nissan published an official video of the eagerly anticipated Juke-R on its dedicated youtube page. The footage shows us many interesting details of this extreme version of the little Japanese crossover, and toward the end of it we can even hear how the colossal 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 lifted from Nissan GT-R sounds like when fitted in this diminutive car.

Nissan already pointed out that the jaw-dropping model is intended for promotional use only and just 2 units of the car will be produced. However, in the wake of the hype surrounding itl since the project got started, the demand for a production version of this crazy Juke is on the rise anyway.

Juke-R: the official pictures

By Adrian

Nissan Juke-R: tutte le foto ufficiali

In view of its debut on the track - due at the end of this month - Nissan released an official photo gallery starring the Juke-R, the much talked-about super sporty version of its little crossover model pushed by the 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 used for the first version of the current GT-R. As previously reported, only 2 units will be produced (left and right hand drive) as the car is intended to be a just promotional vehicle for the brand.

The Juke-R uses a matt black paint job and the engine is not the only thing it has borrowed from the GT-R as transmission, suspension and 20″ alloy wheels by Rays are the same used by the famous Japanese sportscar.

In the cabin we find racing seats with 5-point belts and a roll cage, while steering wheel, pedals and 7″ touch screen have been lifted from the GT-R as well. The Juke-R is street-legal, and will be used for promotional event around the globe only. However, the response from Nissan’s customer base to this aggressive Juke has been so enthusiastic that the Japanese carmaker might actually end up producing a limited edition of the model for the general public.

Nissan Juke 190 HP Limited Edition

By Adrian

Nissan Juke 190 HP Limited Edition

More than 140 young designers took part in the “Pimp your Juke” competition, organized by Nissan to define the design of a new version of the Juke: the 190 HP Limited Edition. This particular line will be initially available in Italy only and is easily recognizable by the large white stripe crossing the bodywork longitudinally, the different wing mirror shells, the color matching handles and the 17″ burnished alloys.

Nissan Juke 190 HP Limited Edition is powered by a 1.6 DIG-T petrol engine developing 190 hp and 240 Nm of peak torque. This unit provides the car with a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 8.4 seconds and 215 km/h of top speed. Only 250 models of this series will be produced.

Nissan Juke-R: more info and live pics

By Adrian

Nissan Juke R

Nissan spokespeople have always been quite clear on the matter: there are absolutely no plans for the Juke-R to enter the market in any form. It is just a show car, an exercise in style combining Juke’s chassis with GT-R’s outstanding engine, but it is and will remain a prototype, just like the equally crazy Micra 350SR. Alright then, but apparently some wealthy Nissan customer has already contacted the Japanese carmaker to verify the actual possibilities of getting their hands on one, waving a blank cheque.

It is not difficult to understand why some people had their mouths watering in front of this naughty Juke, but Nissan confirmed that only 2 units will be made: one right and one left hand drive. The Juke-R that made a surprise appearance in Malaga a few days ago isn’t even the definitive version as the car will need a further 6 months testing in order to develop handling and road behaviour. This is also the reason why Nissan hasn’t even revealed the weight of the car: they are still working on it.

The Juke-R uses the twin turbo 3.8 litres V6 engine of the GT-R mated with dual clutch transmission. Nissan engineers are currently working on a 485 hp configuration in order to tweak the interactions among engine, transmission and four wheel drive, in view of the future 530 hp and 560hp power steps. The project got started about 5 months ago and is developed alongside motorsport expert Ray Mallock Ltd. Check out the latest pictures in our photo gallery.

Nissan releases new Juke R video

By Adrian

Fitting Nissan GT-R’s engine and transmission into a Juke is not an easy job, especially if you want it to maintain a certain level of handling. This is the reason why the team in charge of developing the Juke R is currently working on the chassis of the little crossover, which will have to contain all that GT-R power. In this new video - the third one released so far by the Japanese manufacturer - Nissan’s engineers show us how Juke’s frame have been strengthened.

Nissan Juke road test: the results

By Eva

nissan juke

The idea behind the Nissan Juke is quite simple: to build a compact crossover able to provide both practicality and all the features usually associated with SUVs such as extreme driving comfort and the advantage of towering over traffic. Most models feature front wheel drive which, together with the compact dimensions and reasonable carrying costs, makes this vehicle the perfect answer to the urban driver’s needs.

Thanks to its style and personality the new Juke has conquered the ‘best seller’ rank in its category and Nissan seems to be winning the bet it has taken when they opted for the risky formula of adopting an extremely innovative style. The public is responding remarkably well and this small Japanese SUV managed to sell an astonishing 12,500 units in the first 9 months of 2011.

Nissan Juke-R: 480hp prototype confirmed

By Adrian

Nissan Juke-R

Nissan confirmed that two Juke-R prototypes will be made using the 480hp V6 Twin Turbo engine and GT-R transmission. Although it is confirmed that this car is not destined for production, the project is meant to understand the response of the general public to such a concept and evaluate the opportunity of producing a sporty version (obviously less extreme) of the Juke model, which is currently on the spotlight because of its high sales figures.

The more sporty Juke model currently available uses a turbocharged 1.6 petrol engine (190hp) with direct fuel injection, four wheels drive and Torque Vectoring system, and this is the base on which a possible high-performance variation of the car could be developed. As mentioned above, only 2 units of the outstanding Juke-R concept will be produced: one with right and one with left-hand drive. Both cars will be road-legal and will be used in promotional events. They will be equipped with GT-R digital instrumentation, roll cage, racing seats and five-point harnesses. The Juke-R is being developed by English preparation specialist RML with support from Nissan’s Technical Centre for Europe in Cranfield, Bedfordshire.
