The road tests of the next Mini Crossover are continuing, with the “Mini Maxi” (as nicknamed) being spotted on Italy’s Lake Garda. The Mini Crossover spy shots were passed to us from a reader on Autoblog.it who found himself an improvisory spyshooter.

It appears the two models indicate testing of two different engines, reinforced by the differing exhaust (one with double exhaust, the other a single). One of the Mini Crossover is also reported to have been producing a hefty sound, so stay tuned for more news.

The bizarre Crossover Concept presented at Paris is yet to come, though BMW had foreseen a production of about 80,000 examples at the Magna-Steyr, Graz facilities in Austria. We will have to wait to see if the famous economic crisis has postponed these plans or not.
