Mercedes E-Class cabriolet official pics

Mercedes E-Class Cabriolet first pics

The first official pics of the new Mercedes E-Class Cabriolet have been released, showing more than just the wind deflector, or Aircap. This very photogenic cabrio has a range of other technical innovations, in addition to this amazing little piece of technology.

The wind can be deflected another 20 cm higher, making the E-Class perfect for a luxury cabriolet, seating four passengers in comfort. As an option, you can also have the Airscarf, creating warm air on the neck for cold weather open-top driving. “Easy Entry” technology lets the front seats forward for rear passengers to get in and out, and the electric roof can be activated in 20 seconds, up to a car speed of 40 km/hr.

The soft roof has saved on weight and boot space, which has a capacity of 390 litres with the roof up, less 90 litres when it’s down. The engine range of the cabrio is similar to that of the E-Class coupe with the E 200 CGI 1.8-litre turbo with 184 hp, and the E 250 CGI 5.5-litre V8 with 388 hp. Among the diesel options is the 2.1-litre E 220 CDI with 170 hp, the 2.1-litre E 250 CDI with 204 hp, and the 3.0-litre V6 E 350 CDI with 231 hp.

By Alison

This video of the E-Class station wagon shows a sporty but elegant effort that may put a dent in BMW and Audi competition. By the looks of it, the wagon is definitely a classy and athletic E-Class option that is putting comfort with stylish performance at the forefront. It even looks like it could compete with the inside of some aircraft passenger cabins. See what you think.

Mercedes E-Class cabriolet: best spy shots so far

By Alison

Mercedes Classe E Cabriolet: le migliori foto spia finora

After seeing these spy shots of the Mercedes E-Class Cabriolet we can safely say that the snazzy black colour makes a mighty good impression. These are some of the best pics so far of the E-Class cabrio and show the car in what’s pretty much its final guise.

The photos were taken in Stuttgart, and we can see the lowered rear of the car, the finalised windows and the closed fabric roof. The soft top is a classic touch in a style that will be an overall reflect of the sister coupé.

The same goes for the engine range. The E-Class cabriolet debut will see the E 250 CDI: 2.1 litres with 204 hp and 500 Nm, and the E 350 CDI as a 3.0 litre V6 at 231 hp. Among the petrol units we will see the new E 250 CGI 1.8 litre twin turbo with direct injection that results in 204hp and 310 Nm. It will appear alongside the E 350 CGI 3.5 litre V6 at 292 hp and the E 500 5.5 litre V8 at 388 hp. The E-Class cabrio debut should be confirmed for the Frankfurt motor show in September.

Mercedes Fascination concept video: live in Paris

By Alison

Look it in the face and you will see a sedan, but to be more precise this is a classic sports hatch-back. The Mercedes Fascination concept is, in fact, a sportback concept car that anticipates the next generation E Class. Though it’s likely to turn out that this concept car is too bold and brash to be taken into production as the next E Class.

New Mercedes E-Class: preview renderings

By Alison

Mercedes Classe E rendering

Refined lines, integrated front lights vaguely conjuring up a boomerang, completed updated mechanics: if the letter wasn’t already legendary, taking its place in the history of the manufacturer, it could even be substituted to mark the coming evolution.

The new Mercedes E-Class, already admired in previous spy shots, will follow the new stylistic course of “all lines”, recently applied to the C and CLC: renderings created by World Car Fans contribute to picture by now quite realistic.

The rear seems to be a more traditional example though with a higher back for exhaust and quite conservative lines. The front, however, benefits from nervy lines along the bonnet and an oversized grill, and renouncing single circular headlights seems to be an evolution in style.
