Mercedes-Benz has released a new official video starring the new ML 63 AMG, which was premiered at the last Los Angeles Auto Show. In the comparison with the outgoing generation, the most significant feature of the new model is obviously the new engine: the old, naturally aspirated 6.2-litre V8 unit has been replaced with a 5.5-litre twin turbo engine with direct injection, which will be available in two power steps: the standard 525 hp configuration (with 700 Nm of peak torque) and the Performance Package-equipped 557 hp (760 Nm). The latter will have a limited top speed of 280 km/h (173 mph).

Both variants will come with the obvious all-wheel drive and the well-known 7G-Tronic Speedshift Plus gearbox, which provides for three cruising modes: Controlled Efficiency, Sport and Manual. Other significant features of the new ML 63 AMG include electric sliding glass roof, Becker sat-nav, 20 CD audio system with Bluetooth and USB interfaces, heated seats for the driver and front passenger, tyre pressure monitoring system and exclusive AMG bits all across (i.e. carmats, sill panels, stainless steel pedals and so on)

On the top of all that, the Performance Package provides for carbon fibre engine cover, red painted calipers and 21″ 5-spoke AMG alloys, which will be made available for the ’standard’ version as well as optional extras.

Mercedes-Benz releases a slew of official images dedicated to the ML 63 AMG, the latest muscular SUV from three-pointed star house. The model comes with a brand new 5.5-litre biturbo V8 engine delivering 518 hp and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of peak torque, and capable of pushing the new ML from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.8 seconds, with a self-imposed top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). The Mercedes ML 63 AMG is also equipped with the new Active Curve System, which uses active anti-roll bars on both front and rear axles to compensate for body roll angles while cornering. Besides, it ensures that the vehicle does not react badly to one-sided suspension movements caused by potholes and/or bumps.

For those who would like to get even more out of it, Mercedes offers the so called Performance Package, which increases the working pressure of the turbocharger from 1 to 1.3 bar, providing the car with an extra 32 hp and 60 Nm (44 lb-ft) of torque, boosting its total output to 550 hp and 760 Nm. With this Performance Package, the new ML 63 AMG is allowed to reach no less than 280 km/h (174 mph). The new Mercedes ML 63 AMG and ML 63 AMG Performance are scheduled to hit the market this coming April, priced at 116.450 € and 127.220 € respectively.

Russian tuning company TopCar made a name for itself with a number of styling packages for BMWs and Porsches, but this time around they are going to take care of a Merc, more precisely the Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG. These are the first official renderings of an aero-package that its currently being developed by the Russian specialist.

Judging by these images, TopCar will release a bodykit (made of carbon fibre and kevlar) which should be composed of an aggressive front bumper with larger air intakes and integrated LED strips and splitter, bigger fenders, side skirts, strakes on the front doors with similar panels on the rears which blend seamlessly into the wider arches and a new rear bumper fascia with some sort of diffuser, while roof rails have been removed.

This new aerodynamic package for the successful 518 hp SUV should become available in Spring 2012.

The redesigned 2012 Mercedes ML 63 AMG is about to be unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show, and Mercedes just released a photo gallery and a video to celebrate it. The new sporty version of its well-known German SUV is powered by a twin-turbo AMG 5.5-liter V8 delivering 518 hp and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque, with a 0-100 km/h sprint time (0-62 mph) of 4.8 seconds and top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). However, an optional AMG Performance Package would boost its output to 550 hp and 760 Nm (560 lb-ft), trimming the 0-100 km/h acceleration from 4.8 to 4.7 seconds and providing the car with 280 km/h top speed (174 mph). This package also bundles an AMG Performance steering wheel, carbon-fiber engine cover and red brake calipers.

The ML 63 AMG features a new active roll stabilization system integrated into AMG sports suspension, which includes Airmatic air suspension, automatic level control and adaptive damping. Power is delivered to its four wheels through an AMG G-Tronic Speedshift Plus 7-speed automatic transmission that features three driving programs and a rev-matching function for downshifting. AMG sports suspension with Airmatic Air Suspension, independent damper struts, automatic level control and Adaptive Damping System (ADS) is combined with a new Active Curve System for anti-rollover stabilization. The new model will also boast a 33% improved fuel efficiency over its predecessor.

To complete the profile of this outstanding machine 20-inch wheels as standard, with 21-inch units available as an option, high-performance brakes, xenon headlights, full bodykit, illuminated sill panels, quadruple exhaust pipes and design premium leather trim. A distinctive instrument cluster with an integrated color monitor is also exclusive to the ML 63 AMG.

Mercedes published on its AMG Facebook page the first official teaser of the ML 63 AMG, the sporty version of its well-known SUV that will be officially unveiled at the imminent Los Angeles Auto Show (November 18-27).

The image confirms that AMG added larger front air intakes and LED day lights integrated in the front bumper, but it is not hard to imagine that the model will also use bigger alloy wheels, upgraded braking system and the typical AMG four mufflers. Under the bonnet, a twin turbo 5.5 litre V8 will provide the ML 63 with 525 hp, although a performance kit will also be made available to let the car achieve the 557 hp boasted by the CLS 63 AMG.
