Reiter Engineering presented its Murcielago LO670 R-SV at the 24 Hours of Spa race. These pics show the GT1 racing version, with complete carbon fibre body work weighing 1,150 kg.
Reiter is planning that the car will be allowed in next year’s FIA GT World Championship, as one of the six brands permitted. After the jump is press release, courtesy of Autoblog.
Top Gear certainly seems to be enjoying itself over in Abu Dhabi. After the drag race between the Bugatti Veyron and McLaren F1, it’s now the turn of the Lamborghini Murcielago LP670/4SV. Just as well there’s a very long, straight road to drive down.
Apart from that, the Murcielago LP670/4SV is the “fatest Lamborghini ever made”, although it seems that Top Gear increasingly needs to try the cars before being convinced. 170 miles per hour should convince just about anyone. Check out the video to see the 670 hp, all-wheel drive going for a spin in the desert.
For more driving details on the Murcielago LP670/4SV, check out Driver’s Republic, who, after a round at Silverstone, write “prepare to sell your soul”. Their Murcielago test drive video is here.
Drivers Republic has supplied us all with these videos of the Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 Super Veloce in which no annoying background noise gets in the way of hearing the poetry of its V12 at 670 hp. Both on the road and on the track the performance is incredible, especially considering it would have been difficult to improve on what is already a Murcielago.
The Super Veloce (SV) version features a new aerodynamic kit that slightly limits the top speed but creates more push out of the dynamics. Take a look as well at the series kit from Automotionblog just to get your heart racing further. More videos after the jump.

The new Lamborghini Murcielago won’t debut before 2011, but we know it will be compact, light and equipped with a V12 of apparently 670 hp. Auto Motor und Sport has created this rendering of a direct evolution on the current generation. Nervy and tense lines have been used in shades of the Gallardo and the Reventon.
The new V12 engine should adopt direct injection technology, while the chassis will abandon steel to make way for alluminium. We should see some improvements on the robustness of the chassis however, and all wheel drive on a shorter wheel base will be present.

It’s difficult to get the same emotion out of a Lamborghini Murciealgo LP 670-4 SuperVeloce photo gallery, but in the following pics at least we get a sense of its high speed appeal. That is, until we get our hands on some new videos of the V12 Lamborghini Murcielago symphony. Enjoy the gallery below.

Stefan Winkelmann must have enjoyed revealing the new Lamborghini Murcielago LP670/4 at the Geneva show; producing only 350 examples of this car from May through to April 2010 means we’re unlikely to see it again.
The focus has been on weight/power ratios, increasing power while reducing by a good 100 kg the overall weight. The new Murciealgo LP670/4 now sits at 1,655 as the final weight, resulting in only 3.2 seconds to reach 100 km/hr.

You’ll have to look closely at these images, because with only 50 units to be produced, it will be very difficult to see the new Lamborghini Murcielago LP650/4 Roadster on the road. The V12 from Bologna will be present at the Geneva motor show, and it will be well worth a visit if you happen to go.
Compared to the current coupé and roadster, the main modification in the Murcielago is the updated engine, with 100 hp per litre, therefore 650 in total. The interior also has some updates with chrome grey and orange colouring. It’s not particularly elegant, but then it’s not meant to be. The new LP650/4 Roadster costs about 400,000 US dollars.

The guys from Autoblog.nl have sent through what they believe to be a scoop on the next Lamborghini Murcielago LP650-4 supercar, revealing some details and pics before its official presentation.
The supercar will be manufactured in a limited edition of only 50 units, not giving you much chance to get your hands on the unusual twin colour paint work. The Murcielago also has Hermera wheels in shiny black, with orange brake calipers and the “LP650-4″ logo on the front.
The technical specs should reveal a powerstep to 650hp for the 6.5 litre V12 engine, while for the price of this new collectors piece is still currently unknown.
The 2009 Geneva motor show will see the debut of the Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4. This is the latest evolution in the Italian supercar which will be a kind of “Ultimate Edition” before saying farewell to the car, planned for 2011.
Despite this swan song, plenty of new features have been included including up to 670hp of power from the V12 engine. The weight will be down by about 100 kg compared to the LP640, thanks to greater use of lighter materials. The rear will sport a large carbon fibre spoiler and the all wheel drive featured has been confirmed.
Other modifications recall the Gallardo Superleggera, with internal carbon fibre features, alloy wheels and carbon ceramic brakes. The transmission will also be made from magnesium, rather than alluminium, with the shift time split from 0.4 to just 0.2 seconds.
The heir to the Murcielago will be presented after 2011. Currently called Jota, it is still in development phase.

The next jewell in the crown from Lamborghini will be the new Murcielago LP670-4 SV. With the name likely to stick, Lamborghini fans will be able to figure out the main characteristics of the most powerful Lamborghini made, which could be launched at the Geneva motor show in March.
While the V12 Murcielago should reach 670hp, it will likely include all wheel drive despite the historic SV name, which could disappoint afficionados. While the overall weight is likely to be similar to the LP 640 sister, the look is likely to change with modifications similar to the 2007 Gallardo Superleggera.
The rear wing should come in varying options and based on the aerodynamics chosen, the maximum speed should range between 337 and 342 km/hr. The price should be about 25 more than the LP640, taking the new Lamborghini Murcielago to about 360,000 euros.

While I can’t understand a word of the commentary, it sounds very exciting as a Nissan GT-R holds it own against a Lamborghini Murcielago LP 640. While the Italian car still wins, the Nissan shows itself worthy, losing only a few metres despite a good 160 hp less.

In reading the numbers we’re asking ourselves what its limit is, or even if it has one. Coming from the parentage of the “SV”, this is a car with a pedigree capable of stirring emotions only talking about it. According to announcements from Autocar, the photographs are the best example that Lamborghini is continuing to develop its SV of the Murcielago, destined to give birth once again to the splendour of Miura and Diablo. We had already discussed this thanks to sightings from the Nurburging in May 2007, but silence following this had made us lose hope.
