Professional freeskier and alpine ski racer Jon Olson entrusted its Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 to German tuner DMC in order to have it transformed a little bit, but it was not the usual tuning job. The 29 years old Swede is a long-time Lamborghini enthusiast as it used to drive to the various ski events with a Murcielago LP670, but when he found out about the Aventador he got rid of that and ordered the new Lambo.

Unfortunately he needs to wait a whole year to get it delivered, and so he got himself a Gallardo and gave it to DMC to provide it with a custom made ski-box (approved for use at speeds of up to 255km/h) and a camouflage paint-job. You can admire the result in these pictures.

After reports that we would see a Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 twin-tone version at the Detroit Auto Show, more has been added to that rumour, with speculations that there will also be a three-tone model. The two Gallardo models will be called Bicolore and Tricolore and we should see at least the former at the show in January. It will have Callisto alloy wheels, redesigned interior and a black roof matched to yellow, white, grey, orange and green colour schemes.

The Lamborghini Gallardo SE is a past twin-tone version which also had a black roof. 250 units of it were produced. The new version offers this kind of treatment again, and could be extended to a three-tone model which could appear at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show. We’re thinking it might be a “tricolore” version with the colours of the Italian flag, possibly in light of festivities celebrating 150 years of Italian unification, but that’s pure speculation.

Although strange, bizarre often suits Lamborghini and this LP560-4 one-off will go on sale at the Lamborghini dealership of Beverly Hills. The car has a Lamborghini Ad Personam personalised kit, Blue Cepheus body tint and on the inside, Blue Scylla & Cuoio Olympus leather finish.

The final touch from Mexican artist is the abstract design on the bonnet, roof and engine cover. We said bizarre, you might say ugly, but it’s all about the exclusivity. We don’t know what the going price is, but it won’t be pretty unless money really isn’t an object.

German tuner IMSA has presented its new tuning kit for the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4. The body kit has been built from carbon fibre, the trim can be adjusted in eight different positions. The tuned-up Gallardo has a new electronics system and titanium exhaust, increasing power to 584 hp and torque to 560 Nm.

A widening of the wheel base was necessary to house the new alloy wheels, centrally mounted and measuring 9×20″ at the front, shod 245/30; and 12,5×20″ at the rear shod in 325/25. New interior features include monocoque carbon fibre seats, and plenty of further use of this material in the finishings.

The final race of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo (Blancpain) will take place this weekend from October 2-4 at the Paul Ricard track. The last round in Barcellona has left the championship open for any victory (as long as it’s Lamborghini).

A curiosity from the Super Trofeo series has been the presence of drivers Hervé and Cedric Leimer. The brothers are the only non-professional drivers in the series, having had a passion for Lamborghini since 1974 when their father René bought a 49 percent stake in the company from Lamborghini founder Ferruccio.

Whether Lamborghini will ever reconsider lending its 140,000 pound car to the guys from Fifth Gear remains to be seen, but in this video you can check out the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 on snow. The ice track is perfect for a bit of “old fashioned adrenalin”, especially when traction control is off.

The Gallardo shows some very impressive technology, but for real fun the ESP system should be off to really exploit the supercar’s all-wheel drive. 552hp on snow with all-wheel drive is hard work, apparently, but also a lot of fun.

The official presentation of the Gallardo LP560-4 Polizia has taken place, with the police Lamborghini being presented to the head of police and representatives from the ministry for home affairs.

The new Gallardo LP560-4 Polizia subsitutes the previous Gallardo police model, in service from 2004. The new model will form part of the highway patrol unit of Lazio. The previous model has covered 140,000 kilometres in patrol and first aid services, and another model delivered in 2005 in Bologna has already covered 100,000 kilometres.

The LP560-4 Polizia has advanced on-board technology including the Provida system, capable of recognising stolen vehicles, and in its role of first aid intervention, is kitted out with a defibrillator and organ transport. The 30 agents who will have access to the vehicle have undergone special driving courses, including intervention and high-speed sports driving, the latter being conducted by Lamborghini test drivers.
