Lamborghini carbonfibre handbags

Lamborghini carbonfibre handbags

Not a material you would generally expect as part of your luggage collection, Lamborghini has used carbonfibre in its soft, cloth form to make this Lamborghini bag set. The company claims it’s the first time the material has been used for this purpose and we have to admit we are slightly impressed - when we first saw the Lamborghini carbonfibre program we were thinking bucket seats, not bags.

The handmade Lamborghini luggage set includes a duffel bag, satchel and messenger bag with leather trim, cotton lining and brass buckles. Lamborghini plans to sell the bags through its dealerships and online, and the range costs from €850 to €1,450. We knew carbonfibre was expensive….

Lamborghini Gallardo vs golf: video on how a Callaway driver compares to a supercar

By Alison

Here’s the first in the Lamborghini-Callaway publicity stunts but we’ll forgive them for this one. Basically, golfer Stuart Appleby tries out a new forged composite carbon driver to try and beat a Lamborghini Gallardo along 250 metres, by hitting the ball as the Gallardo gets a rolling start. You wouldn’t have thought it, but Appleby claims he can hit a ball, that off the face of the club goes at 270 to 280 km/hr so the competition is not as one-sided as it first seems. Check out what happens in the video above - a good excuse to show off some new technology.

Lamborghini Sesto Elemento Concept live from 2010 Paris Motor Show

Lamborghini Sesto Elemento Concept - live at Paris 2010

The Lamborghini Sesto Elemento Concept has been presented live at the 2010 Paris Motor Show and as usual we’re there with our Autoblog.it colleagues to bring you all the live pics and news. The Sesto Elemento Concept is a brutal sports car weighing just 999 kg. It’s Lamborghini’s first example of its new supersports car manifesto - same power but less weight.

The Sesto Elemento Concept is based on the Gallardo Superleggera LP570-4 and is equipped with the same 5.2-litre V10 with 570 hp and 540 Nm of torque. The new Lambo concept uses carbon fibre for the internal shell of the car’s cabin, the entire front end, the bodywork and the bumpers. The engine and this extensive use of the lightweight carbon material have combined to create some explosive performance figures.

The Sesto Elemento has a power-weight ratio of 1.75 kg/hp. It reaches 100 km/hr in just 2.5 seconds and has a top speed of “well over 300 km/hr”. It’s exactly the kind of supercar innovation that Lamborghini should be investing in and while carbon fibre has become famous, the company has also experimented with other modern materials, such as Pyrosic for the exhaust system (a new glass and ceramic composite material). The carbon fibre bodywork gets a transparent finish creating an opaque look and red micro-crystals add that touch of colour we saw in the teaser pics.

Lamborghini last teaser pic for Paris

By Alison

Lamborghini carbon fibre teaser Paris

We had thought yesterday’s Lamborghini teaser pic was the least we would see before the start of the 2010 Paris Motor Show but it seems that the company rushed to bring things home with this fifth (and final as we understand it) carbon teaser pic. We like Lamborghini (who doesn’t?) but we are now over the teaser campaign and ready to see the real thing, hoping that it will justify the drawn-out campaign so far.

What’s even less exciting at this point, is Lamborghini’s announcement that Callaway golf representatives will be at the Lambo presentation in Paris in light of a joint venture for luxury products. We’re assuming it will be more than just added storage space for your clubs in a Lamborghini, but then you never know. Lamborghini says that “new designs characterised by innovative materials and technology” will be presented that have something to do with the new “supersports Lamborghini and the new line in Callaway golf equipement”.

Last Lamborghini teaser before Paris UPDATED

By Alison

Lamborghini carbon fibre teaser Paris

Here’s the final 2010 Paris Motor Show teaser pic from Lamborghini as it prepares what we expect will be a Lamborghini carbon fibre concept for the show. It looks like the rumours of two Lambo supercars at the show might not come to fruition, meaning we’ll see a tech concept and no Lamborghini Jota.

From the teaser pics and the supercar manifesto released earlier, we know Lamborghini will be bringing a carbon fibre concept along as a minimum, although what production plans for future carbon-fibre based models the company has is anyone’s guess. We’d like to see a McLaren MP4-12C competitor from Lamborghini because while they’ll always have their exotic status, they might not be able to keep up with technical developments unless they start investing in some serious driving-oriented features. All will be revealed in the next few days.

Updated: Lamborghini has one more teaser pic which we’ll be bringing you soon.

No Lamborghini Jota at Paris?

By Alison

Lamborghini carbon fibre teaser Paris

Well, thank heavens the 2010 Paris Motor Show is just around the corner because all these Lamborghini Jota and carbon fibre rumours are getting us frustrated. We might no longer be seeing two new models at the show - one Jota and one mysterious 83X, but rather one Lamborghini carbon fibre model.

That makes sense given the teaser shots we’ve seen so far but it belies any of the references to dealership events and secret revelations we’ve heard so far. You’d think we’d all just entered a weird supercar cult so the most we can go on now are these mega-close-up teaser shots. Bring on Paris, we say.

Lamborghini teaser for Paris motor show: part three

By Alison

Lamborghini carbon fibre teaser Paris

Here’s the third Lamborghini teaser shot for the 2010 Paris Motor Show and it’s clear that at least this mini teaser campaign is all abut carbon fibre. The third installment offers no further information on the Paris show ’surprise’ and there will be a fourth episode before whatever is revealed at the show is….revealed.

There hasn’t been any more light shed on whether Lamborghini will present two models, one of which would be the Lamborghini Jota and the other the mysterious 83X model. Apparently a special dealership event later this week could give us some more information, otherwise we’ll be waiting until Paris.

Lamborghini: two supercars at Paris show?

By Alison

Lamborghini Paris show teaser

Juicy rumours from the internet indicate we could be seeing two new Lamborghini supercars at the 2010 Paris Motor Show and not just the one carbon fibre, supersports car manifesto previously thought. According to reports, what’s known as the Lamborghini Jota (codenamed LB715-5) will be presented, which is a new V12 model to replace the Murcielago.

It will apparently appear alongside something at this stage internally called the Lamborghini 83X which is a total mystery at this stage. The rumours have emerged after invitations to a special dealers event were issued, where the new carbon fibre Jota will most probably be presented. As we already mentioned, the McLaren competition on the carbon front may have galvanised Lamborghini into investing in this technology, and this new model apparently has a carbonfibre tub similar to that of the MP4-12C and made by the same manufacturer, Carbo Tech.

The teaser shots that Lamborghini has been releasing would indicate the Jota carbonfibre project, so the other mystery model is currently open to the wildest speculation. Apparently both the new models will be revealed at the dealers event on September 23rd, which is a full week before the Paris show opens to the press. So we’ll be waiting for exclusive spy shots and speculation to appear on the web later this week.

Lamborghini carbonfibre and supercar manifesto

By Alison

Lamborghini carbon fibre Paris teaser pic

Along with a new teaser pic for its upcoming 2010 Paris Motor Show model, Lamborghini has also released its new supersports car manifesto, which is all about weight and handling, and not pure speed. Lamborghini has already revealed in the past that it is working on new carbonfibre technology, now with a dedicated laboratory, and here is another public statement that we will be seeing some changes at the supercar company.

It wouldn’t surprise us if some of this new carbonfibre drive is the result of McLaren’s MP4-12C supercar with its lower price, focus on pure sports handling and carbon fibre shell shaking up the supercar scene a little. Whatever the case, we’re happy to listen to a new tune from Lamborghini. The manifesto is after the jump, and see our previous Lamborghini teaser pic for the first peek of its Paris appearance.
