The restyled Honda Insight - premiered at the last Frankfurt Motor Show - is now on sale in Japan, and a brand new Executive version with a 1.5 litre engine is also available. Before, the hybrid car was on sale with just the 1,3 litre iVTEC engine (98 hp) coupled with IMA hybrid system, while this new version will use the same 1,5 litre 124 hp engine mounted on the CR-Z coupe.

The new Insight Executive is equipped with various accessories and uses a CVT transmission that allows the driver to simulate a 7-speed gearbox by using the paddles behind the steering wheel. In order to meet the requirements of Japanese laws, its fuel consumption is 3,8 l/100 km, whereas the smaller 1.3 engine boasts a 3,2 l/100km value. No word from Honda on a possible version of the car for the European market.
