Honda Motor Co. announced that in November they will cut down their North American production by 50% because of the floods that have recently hit Thailand, a tragedy which also involved some supplier of the Japanese carmaker based in the region. All of the six Honda plants in North America will all be affected by the problem, with reduced output in November and no possibility of Saturday overtime for their workers throughout the whole month. In addition, more cuts could be announced at a later time.
Thai floods are yet another setback for the Honda Group, which is still struggling to recover from delays and losses caused last March by earthquake, tsunami, and radiation emergencies in Japan. More specifically, the inconvenience will probably force Honda to postpone the commercial debut of the new CR-V, a model that would be expected to hit the showrooms in December.

In the wake of the announcement that the successful Honda NSX model will return to production and following the anticipation about its hybrid engine, a new car has appeared that seems to foresee its exterior design. This car is an Acura-badged roadster featured in the ‘Avengers’ movie, and has been photographed on the set nearby Central Park, New York, with Robert Downey jr. behind the wheel.
According to AutoExpress, the new NSX will be powered by a brand new V6 and two electric engines, and its architecture should be similar to the Dual Mode 4WD concept displayed at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2001, a prototype that actually had a center mounted 3.5 litres V6 with two electric engines on the front wheels, delivering 400 hp.
The new NSX will probably adopt a VTEC engine with capacity between 3.5 and 3.7 liters and Li-ion batteries that can be recharged like hybrid plug-in cars. The NSX will be a full hybrid car, therefore it will be able to run a few miles powered by electric energy only.
Honda has just released new details and photos of its 2011 Odyssey; though the car doesnât seem to have much to offer when it comes to new innovations, we can certainly call it a good looker; its design, easy on the eye, shows an improvement on the outgoing model. The 2011 Odyssey features a “lightning bolt” beltline, available HID headlamps up front, new 18-inch alloy wheels, larger 12.6-inch ventilated front disc brakes, revised side mirrors and a power tailgate. Lower and wider than the old model, this new version also boasts a 3.5-liter i-VTEC V6 under the bonnet, and according to early estimates the top-trim Odyssey Touring Elite should achieve 19 miles per gallon in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. But with data increasingly showing that car interiors are one of biggest selling points, Honda has turned its focus to interiors in a bid to attract new buyers, so the Odyssey features a lot of new accessories such as a chilled cool box in the front centre console, HDMI (high-definition multimedia interface) input, 16.2-inch widescreen entertainment system, 15 upholders and a trash bag holder! Honda’s Live Every Litre campaign, a sponsored documentary series on roadtrips for the CR-Z European launch, included burlesque dancer Agent Lynch doing some strip teasing in the Montmartre district of Paris.
We have no idea what covering oneself with blue paint has to to with Honda’s hybrid car, because we barely noticed the car in the video, but what the hell, a little T&A are always a nice way to brighten up a Monday morning. Enjoy.
