According to egmcartech site Shelby Performance Parts has announced the production of a new kit for the 2007-2012 GT500, to further increase its already considerable power. The American sports car mounts the all-aluminum 5.4-litre Triton Modular supercharged V8 engine, capable of delivering 558 hp and 693Nm of torque.
The kit includes Shelby- Whipple 3.4L Black Supercharger, a new Competition Heat Exchanger and Competition Intercooler Tank to reduce intake temperature and considerably boost power. The Tuner Kit should give the sports car an extra 300 hp to play with. To remember the Shelby GT500 ModelYear 2013 is pushed by a 5.8-litre V8 engine with output of 650 hp and 813 Nm of torque.

Here are a few spy shots of the next Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, that the Blue Oval said it will come with the most powerful V8 production engine in the world. Apparently, this 5.8-litre turbocharged unit entirely made of aluminum will produce a staggering 662 hp with 855 Nm of peak torque and use an intercooler heat exchanger with the volume increased by 36% over the previous version. The model boasts a dry weight of 1750 kg and comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox with upgraded gears, bearings and housing to manage its outstanding torque.
Ford also claims that the new car will be the most efficient model of its segment: average fuel consumption is rated at 13.07 l/100 km (15.67 l/100 km in the city and 9.8 l/100 km on motorways). Top speed is rated at 320 km/h (about 200 mph). Nearly every part of the powertrain has been optimized for producing the additional horsepower, including a new supercharger, new cross-drilled block and heads, updated camshaft profiles, a new carbon fiber driveshaft and upgraded clutch, transmission and axle. The Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 comes with 19″ forged aluminum rims at the front and 20″ on the rear.
Ford will present at the imminent Los Angeles Auto Show (November 18-27) what can be considered the ultimate Ford Mustang: the Shelby GT500 Model Year 2013 . In comparison to the previous version, nearly every part of the powertrain has been optimized including a new supercharger, new cross-drilled block and heads, updated camshaft profiles, a new carbon fiber driveshaft and upgraded clutch, transmission and axle. The renewed model will be powered by an by an aluminum 5.8-liter supercharged V8 engine producing 650 hp and 813 Nm (600 lb/ft) of maximum torque, making it the most powerful production V8 engine in the world. That’s definitely a big improvement over the 558 hp 5.4 litre unit of the previous model. The new also boasts a top speed in excess of 320 km/h (200mph) and a dry weight of 1750 kg.
The new engine uses an entirely revised cooling system that now now includes a larger cooling fan, fan shroud with high-speed pressure-relief doors, a more efficient charge air cooler, a higher-flow intercooler pump and a 36% bigger intercooler. The transmission is a 6-speed manual with upgraded gears, bearings and housing in order to manage its impressive torque. Other highlights include Torsen limited-slip differential, launch control by SVT and braking system by Brembo. Aerodynamics as well have been revised to handle to extreme loads at 320 km/h: the manufacturer claim a 33% more effective aero loading at 160 mph (257 km/h) compared to the 2011 model.
Ford Shelby GT500’s traction control system and electronic stability control settings help the driver to achieve maximum performance on both street and track. However, these devices can be completely disabled in controlled track situations where maximum driver skill is utilized, or fully engaged for maximum safety during normal driving or in case of bad weather conditions. Available as part of the optional Performance Package, SVT-designed Bilstein electronic adjustable dampers are accessed on the dash with a simple push of a button. Normal mode gives customers a more comfortable ride over road irregularities. Sport mode is all about performance, delivering improved response time on the track and less body roll. The standard model comes with 19″ front and 20″ rear forged aluminum wheels.
