The renewed Fiat Sedici is now available for order. The Model Year 2012 is available in three different versions (Dynamic, Emotion and Experience) and comes with either a 120 hp 1.6-litre petrol engine or a 135 hp 2.0 Multijet diesel engine. The range will feature both FWD and 4WD variations, although the latter will also make use of an “on-demand” four wheel drive system that lets the driver switch freely between 4×2 and 4×4 drive.
The new model incorporates a number of new details that immediately refer to modern crossovers: a new bumper, metallic trim around the fog lights, redesigned exterior mirrors incorporating turning signals and finished in a metallic gray and also a brand new Viola Ribelle color (Purple Rebel in Italian). 16″ burnished alloy wheels will also be available for the Experience version only.
In comparison to the previous generation, the new Sedici boasts different upholstery and an upgraded standard equipment now featuring ESP, window bag, a new Cd/MP3 player, BlueTooth and USB connectivity, while a 5-inch touch screen navigation and audio system is also available for the Experience version only.

Fiat is no slouch when it comes to engine technology and in recent talks between Sergio Marchionne and Suzuki management, the two companies have come to an agreement over a Fiat-Suzuki partnership. The deal sees Suzuki use the Fiat 1.6 Multijet engine from 2013 on a new project. No announcements have been made as to exactly which vehicle will use the four-cylinder diesel, but it is expected to be an all-new model which will be built in Hungary.
The deal follows previous arrangements in which Suzuki purchased 2.0-litre diesel engines from Fiat Powertrain Technologies for the Suzuki SX4 compact SUV. The Japanese company also produces 1.3-litre Fiat engines under licence in India, but is now looking to Fiat to produce the next generation two-litre diesel.
No news has been released regarding the future of the Fiat Sedici compact SUV, which is based on the SX4 and is manufactured by Suzuki in Hungary. In the Fiat-Chrysler product plan, the Sedici is to be replaced with a small SUV in collaboration with Jeep, but Suzuki has a contract to build it until 2013, after which no Sedici replacement as such is planned. In any case, 2013 marks the year when Sedici production will cease and announcements will possibly be made on the Fiat-Jeep SUV.

Fiat has released the first pics of its Fiat Sedici restyling, seen here in a more modern style, but with no exaggerated changes. A new engine range is available, including the 1.6 litre petrol unit at 120 hp with 156 Nm, and the 2.0 litre Multijet at 135 hp, with a huge 320 Nm.
A marginal facelift graces the front of the Sedici, with a Bravo look, though perhaps a more elegant update to the plastic elements could have been considered. The interior remains as is.
With regards to the engine range, reduced emissions and greater fuel efficiency are features, with the 1.6 requiring only 6.2 litres per 100 km on a mixed circuit. The 2.0 litre registers just 5.1 litres per 100 km. The new models will be available in dealerships from September.

More Fiat spy shots today from GlobalMotors with this Fiat Sedici mule spotted in cold testing in Sweden.
The light touches to the design mostly involve the front, while the interior should also see some updates with a new navigator and twin zone air conditioning.
The adoption of the more modern 1.4 T-jet and 1.6 Multijet engines should also take place on this model, planned for a Geneva show debut.
