Here are the very first spy shots of what will become Ferrari 599 GTB’s successor, a new Ferrari GT currently codenamed F152. At the moment there is not even a confirmation about the name of the model, although the name F620 has been rumored several times.
This new Ferrari GT will maintain the front mounted engine and should be using a 6.3-liter V12 unit delivering more than 700 hp. In this case, it will be more powerful than both the FF and the 599 GTO and - especially - more powerful than the Lamborghini Aventador. Power will be delivered to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission with a F1 style electronic differential.
The pictured mule is very heavily disguised, so there is not much we can see of the bodywork design, but it is expected to be an evolution of the 599 style, possibly with some details lifted from the 458 Italia and the FF. The chassis should make large use of aluminum parts, a move that would make this new model way lighter than the car it will replace. We just can’t wait to see how this machine will shape up, but for now we can just imagine how it would look like with those heavy cloths off. The new Ferrari GT is expected to be unveiled at the next Geneva Motor Show, in March 2012, and then go on sale in late 2012.
