After our negative reaction to the Mercedes A-Class renderings recently, reports are that the new compact hatchback will borrow elements from the Mercedes F800 and Fascination Concept models. The concept models met with praise on their being presented and we can only assume this will be good news in the face of much doubt over Mercedes’ entrance into the compact hatch segment.
There’s no real indication as to which bits Mercedes will be borrowing, but given the overall style of the models in question, they should be able to put something together. We’re not sure whether it will be the coupé-sedan of the F800 Style concept or a chopped off wagon in the style of the Fascination Concept. The Mercedes A-Class should still prove to be something along the lines of a compact hatchback which will hopefully appear sometime later this year.

Look it in the face and you will see a sedan, but to be more precise this is a classic sports hatch-back. The Mercedes Fascination concept is, in fact, a sportback concept car that anticipates the next generation E Class. Though it’s likely to turn out that this concept car is too bold and brash to be taken into production as the next E Class.
This car to be presented at the Paris show, gives an idea of what the final model will be like, at least in the nose, while the body shows some original sloping lines, faithful to its debut at the motor show. These are the first official images of the Fascination concept car which is the preview to the third generation CLK.
Similarities to the E Class, also in launch, are emerging as we see determined angles and nerve lines, with a shooting brake attractiveness. This car could mark a new design era for Mercedes.
