I don’t know about you, but I’m hoping that the Citroen DS2 doesn’t take on this particular design, shown in a rendering from French site Caradisiac.com. The Citroen DS2 is likely to be the production version of the Revolte concept which was first seen at the 2009 Frankfurt show. At least the name has changed. The DS2 should prove to be the new 2CV model and the design should reflect this, although we’re hoping for something less cartoonish.

The DS2 would appear in the Citroen line-up, as its name suggests, between the DS3 and DS1. The latter will be the entry level model to the DS range and will replace the three-door Citroen C1 (though we have our doubts about this last affermation). The DS2 would likely utilise the new generation C1 platform and should be about 360 cm long. It would compete directly with the Fiat 500 although the French model should have five doors. Apparently, only petrol engines are planned so far with power between 60 and 100 hp.

We can see this model, or the DS1 at the least, with the same kind of twin-cylinder unit as the new Fiat 500 TwinAir. The Citroen DS2 isn’t planned for market release until 2013 so we’ll take this information, along with the rendering, as purely hypothetical at this stage. Pricing of about 10,000 euros is likely, and an electric model should appear in the future, as well.

Citroen will expand its ‘DS’ or premium line after the DS4 and DS5 models, by including a DS2 and DS9 in the line-up. The DS9 will be based on the Metropolis concept and will be destined to compete with large German sedans mostly on the Chinese market. It should debut in both Europe and China in 2013. In the meantime we should also see the small Citroen DS2 developed, based on the Revolte concept. We should be hearing an announcement regarding the two models at the 2010 Paris Motor Show.

The show will also see the debut of the Citroen DS4, followed by the DS5 to be presented at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show. The latter will be based on the same platform as the Citroen C5 and will replace the C6 model before the DS9 comes on the scene. Citroen also has plans to develop a third line which could be presented at this year’s Paris show, too.

It looks like the Citroen Revolte got more publicity on the streets of Paris than at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. In this video the Revolte takes a tour in Paris to the delight of curious onlookers. Apart from the cameraman moving someone out of the way at one point, passersby were able to get up close and have a good look at the car. I’d be happy to see these kinds of initiatives more often - Ferrari on the streets of Milan, anyone…?

The Citroen DS3 Racing appeared alongside the concept models Citroen DS High Rider and Citroen Survolt at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. The Survolt concept is a compact, ecological coupé that almost puts us in mind of a mini-Veyron, especially in the rear. It’s another take on the Citroen Revolte (with a wonderful change in name), which was first presented at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show.

For hot hatch fans, the nasty Citroen DS3-R will initially have a production run of 1,000 units, and you can get a closer look at the lairy model in these live pics from Geneva (more official pics to come). The DS High Rider is a crossover-coupé model with diesel-hybrid power train. It’s the same system that next year’s Citroen DS5 will run off.

Well! This is quite a sexy video for the Citroen Revolte concept we must say, though the car itself effectively mixes cute with sex appeal. The Revolte was presented at the Frankfurt motor show, and while no production is planned, Citroen fans are hoping this will turn into the new Citroen 2CV. It has potential, and so far we like it more than the Renault concepts presented.

After much speculation what is now known as the Citroen ReVolte Concept has been presented, likely to turn up officially at next week’s Frankfurt motor show. Originally appearing on the net under the “new C3″guise, it now looks like Citroen is reviving the 2CV name in the form of a hybrid or fully electric car.

The Citroen ReVolte looks like a snazzy hatch with some innovative aspects in true Citroen style. The new style front grille has been included, and the overall look is one of curvaceous lines and futuristic qualities. We’ll have to wait for next week to see live shots and get some more news.
