The C4 will be available from its debut date with six engine options, three fuel and three diesel. As a five-door version only, the C4 will officially debut at the 2010 Paris Motor Show in September where we’ll be able to see some more of its high tech features.

The petrol C4 engine options start with the enrty level 1.4-litre wtih 95 hp. It has a top speed of 182 km/hr and fuel consumption averaging at 6.5 l/100 km. New Citroen C4 released

By Alison

New Citroen C4

The new Citroen C4 has debuted before its official presentation at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, where it will appear in five-door version only. The new C4 measures 4.33 metres long and continues the new style seen with the C5 and C3, becoming more aggressive and decisive in its shape. With the new length, the C4 is a bigger car than the previous model and has one of the largest boot capacities in its class: measuring 408 litres.

Full details on the engine range haven’t been released yet, although reports from France indicate that the e-HDi versions will be available from launch date. They will have Start&Stop system, six-speed gearbox and CO2 emissions of 109 g/km. Less roll is achieved with new Michelin Energy tyres which also contribute to savings on CO2 emissions. In fact the most economic and environmental of the C4 range, which will be introduced later, should have just 99 g/km of CO2.

The interior has been revamped with higher quality finishes and some elements new to this segment. Electric adjustable lumbar support is available with massage function (I like the sound of that!), and customers can choose the instrument panel colours and even the acoustic signals of the car. The new eTouch system of immediate first aid in an accident also debuts on what could be a promising car for Citroen with a few luxury touches.

2010 Geneva motor show: Citroen DS4 and DS3 leaked

By Alison

Citroen DS4 teaser

A Citroen DS4 teaser shot has been leaked in anticipation of the 2010 Geneva motor show, where the model will be displayed at the Citroen stand alongside the DS3-R racing model. The Citroen DS4 will appear in concept form, although it already foreshadows much of what we’ll see on the production model.

This DS4 teaser shot doesn’t tell us much, although the front looks similar to the DS3, large five-spoke wheels appear and the car has a body style that slopes upwards. It’s unclear whether it will be a three-door or five-door model. It will appear on the market next year, after the Citroen C4 model which will be presented at the 2010 Paris show later this year.

Meanwhile, leaked pics and spy shots show the brand new Citroen DS3-R road racer in a hot hatch that could make an impact on this segment. It’s said to be equipped with a 1.6-litre, four cylinder engine fetching between 200 and 210 hp. Other aspects include a six-speed manual gearbox, possible limited slip differential and front wheel drive. Here’s hoping it also turns up at Geneva, making it a big show for Citroen.

Citroen C4 spy shots from cold weather testing

Citroen C4 spy shots

The next generation Citroen C4 has been spied winter testing in Scandinavia (Europe has certainly provided for sub-zero tests this winter). The new C4 is still under heavy camouflage, meaning we don’t get much of an idea at all about its new style.

The Citroen C4 should be presented at the 2010 Paris motor show in autumn this year, while its commercial debut will arrive in 2011. That makes seven years after the C4 first came on the scene. The big news is that the next C4 could see the debut of a diesel-hybrid engine set-up, which will appear on the Peugeot 3008 and Citroen DS5 in the course of 2011 in the form of the Hybrid4.

The PSA engine places the fuel based engine at the front of the vehicle and the electric motor at the rear. The two work independently so that over a short course the car can be used in just an electric mode if desired. The C4 should also appear with the current 1.6-litre THP engine, although no further technical data is available yet.

New Citroen C6 hybrid to beat rivals

By Alison

Citroen C6

The Citroen C6 is set to get a makeover into a seriously environmental and economical car, with a new PSA hybrid drivetrain that will reduce CO2 emissions to 100 g/km.

The C6 would use a combination of a 163 hp turbodiesel engine to power the front wheels, and a single electric motor driving the rear wheels. The layout is set to reflect the 3008 hybrid, and a further element will be the use of a start-stop system.

The Eco C6 will become highly competitive against its German and Japanese counterparts, featuring new aerodynamics with low-resistance tyres and a flat underbody. It is set to become a concept car, but with no word on whether it will make it to production. Given the Peugeot-Citroen collaboration however, on a hybrid drivetrain, we should see eco versions of the Citroen C4 and Peugeot 308, with the C5 and 407 replacements certainly having production models.

Sebastien Loeb and Stefan Everts challenge on Mur de Grammont

By Alison

Sebastien Loeb vs Stefan Everts: la sfida sul Mur de Grammont

The battle of two wheels against four takes place again, with Sebastien Loeb and Stefan Everts challenging each other on Mur de Grammont. Loeb is a famous WRC champion, while Everts is a legend in motocross, retiring in 2006 after ten world titles.

The stage of Mur de Grammont is one of the most difficult passages on the cycling circuit Tour des Flandres, and Loeb and Everts took it on recently, with a Citroen C4 and KTM. Under heavy rain, the two prepared, with a couple of test runs.

In the end, Everts on his KTM won by a mere 10th of a second ahead of Loeb and his Citroen. Below are a few shots from the friendly race, which looks anything but easygoing.
