Gemballa Mirage GT Gold Edition: Carrera gets a tuning

By Alison

Gemballa Mirage GT Gold Edition

Gemballa’s Mirage GT Gold Edition is a tuning of the Porsche Carrera GT, continuing its ambitious program of tuning out-of-production V10 supercars. Gemballa has a Mirage GT, Mirage GT Carbon Edition and Mirage GT Black Edition, with this Gold Edition playing on new colour combinations.

The modifications are mostly the same across all the Mirage GT versions, involving an aerodynamic makeover, electronic suspension control, alloy wheels, and some changes in the exhaust and engine, going from 612 to 650 hp. The Mirage GT has a top speed of 335 km/hr, and reaches 100 km/hr in 3.7 seconds. A total of 25 models will be produced.

Video: Ferrari, Porsche and Maserati challenge the Pagani Zonda F at the Ring

By Alison

This superb meet of Supercars, in occasion of a track test at the Nurburgring certainly says something about the current panorama of the supercar sector: three of the four cars are no longer in production and, in theory, are waiting for the heirs to take their place. The Porsche Carrera GT, Ferrari Enzo and Maserati MC12 are still considered benchmarks for their brands, and in this video (in German) they challenge the Pagani Zonda F Clubsport.

Unfortunately I don’t speak German (but if anyone does, feel free to help us out with a translation!), so I can’t give you the final conclusions, which appears to be something intriguing about the Maserati. But if you want to see some high speed supercar driving and a nice comparison of the different styles up close, this is a good video.
