We’re already quite taken with the new Mercedes C63 AMG Coupé Black Series, but taking things to the next level are the optional Black Series Aerodynamic and Track packages. Sound over the top? Well they are slightly, but bringing out that track going soul in the C63 AMG Coupé apparently requires more than just a new set of wheels and a couple of extra spoilers.

In these pics from Jonsibal we can see the first images of the optional packages which equip the C63 AMG Black Series for track days where all the 517 ponies from the V8 engine can properly express themselves. The Aerodynamic package sports a fetching rear wing and some added components to the front with the little “winglets” recently seen on the Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0.

Those aerodynamic features are all made from carbonfibre, while the track package offers special Dunlop R 255/35 19″ and 285/30 19″ tyres. They house the new alloy wheels and extras include a new radiator to cool the rear differential - required when driving in extreme conditions or on your favourite track.

The Black Series family from the Mercedes-Benz/AMG partnership has expanded to include the new C63 AMG Coupe Black Series. It’s the third model in the series and marks a sporty style with larger air intakes, a sculpted bonnet with air outlets and new front and rear spoilers. Dedicated 19-inch wheels are shod with 255/35 tyres up front and 285/30 at the back.

Some changes to the suspension system have been carried out on the C63 AMG Black Series with a slightly wider and longer stance. The 6.3-litre V8 M156 engine gets tuned to 517 hp and 620 Nm of torque, and clocks a 0-100 sprint time of 4.2 seconds. New AMG forged pistons and lighter camshafts, along with a new cooling system are part of the package. The AMG Speedshift MCT transmission gets a dry, dual-clutch for even faster shifting.

The rear differential works with the ESP system which can be used in three modes: ESP On, Sport Handling Mode and ESP Off. The new disc brakes measure 390 mm at the front and 360 at the rear. Other goodies include just two front seats from Recaro, eight-speaker sound system and TFT screen display.

A new Mercedes C63 AMG in Black Series Coupe edition has popped up on the internet and apparently we can expect about 517 hp from this extreme version on the “standard” AMG which has 30 hp less. The 6.2-litre V8 should also have somewhere in the region of 640 Nm of torque, and weight is down to about 1,625 kg.

The surprise reveal of the Mercedes C63 AMG Black Series Coupe pics emerge from the garages of the Paul Ricard track in France and show some of the style updates we’ll see. Less over-the-top than the previous CLK AMG Black Series and SL AMG Black Series, and apparently not a limited edition, it could be a popular option for those looking for a little extra aggression.
