These spy shots of the Citroen C-Cactus are purportedly its final version, although the C-Cactus isn’t expected until 2012. The look is an evolution on the concept car and the compact dimensions confirm its role as an ecological city car. The C-Cactus could, in fact, be the first vehicle in the new Essentiele brand.
Reports say the C-Cactus will have a hybrid engine with a new one-litre three-cylinder petrol unit, and a 1.4-litre HDI, although an electric version is also expected. The minimalist style should see a highly competitive low price, while overall weight, fuel consumption and emissions will be very low.

Auto Journal has confirmed that the Citroen C-Cactus concept car that was presented back in 2007 at the Frankfurt show, will have a production series. The news comes after many rumours on C-Cactus production.
The model will apparently remain very similar to the prototype, including its length of about 420cm. The engine will be a combination of a turbo petrol unit of about 100 hp and an electric unit. The model should debut some time between the end of 2011 and the start of 2012.
