Bugatti Veyron Super Sport speed video test drive

By Alison

“360 km/hr, I think we better stop” would have to be the golden quote from this Autocar video test drive of the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport. The model was tested to celebrate the historic publication’s 5,000th test drive - and they did it with the car they consider to be the epitome of where a modern automobile can get. The first vehicle ever tested was an Austin 7 back in 1928. The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport test here is all about speed and we recommend you sit through it to see the “show off launch” which sounds something similar to a jet aircraft taking off.

Bugatti Veyron Super Sport test drive video

By Alison

The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport is the best car in the world, according to Autocar. It might have the price tag to match, but it’s fascinating to see someone finally get behind the wheel of this thing and tell us what it’s all about. Describing the unattainable can’t be easy, but luckily Autocar doesn’t indulge in too much hyperbole; in fact, the video comes across as their usual cruisy drive discussing everything from interior finishes to steering precision.

Interestingly, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport is not a perfect car and we thank Steve Sutcliffe for not providing us with a sycophantic review. Getting an idea of how fast the Super Sport goes, is a difficult task to have tackled. You can mention all the figures you like, but we think that unless you’re in the driving seat, you’ve really got no idea how nuts this thing is. The video is well worth the watching (we’d like to see a 90 second spin-off though, just for the fun of it).

Bugatti Veyron Super Sport video

By Alison

After the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport achieved a new land-speed record, here is the first video of the Veyron Super Sport from bugattipassion.com. While we don’t get any shots of the 1200 hp vehicle in action, there is so much close-up detail that it should satisfy most fans. See the pics of this unique car below.

Bugatti Veyron Super Sport

Bugatti Veyron Super Sport

The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport has been revealed in the wake of it setting a new land speed record of 430 km/hr. Under the driving of Pierre Henri Raphanel and close supervision, the Super Sport first hit 428 km/hr before then reaching 434 km/hr. The technical specs of this vehicle are nothing short of whopping: it has 1,200 hp and 1,500 Nm of torque which is an increase of 200 hp and 250 Nm on the ’standard’ Bugatti Veyron.

The Veyron Super Sport is equipped with an 8.0-litre, 16-cylinder engine with a quadriturbo system - four large turbochargers with equally large intercoolers. It can accelerate to 100 km/hr in just 2.5 seconds. Obviously some chassis upgrades have been included, to keep the vehicle more stable, and it has racing shocks, too.

The street version Veyron Super Sport, if it can really be called that, will be electronically limited to a mere 415 km/hr. It will go on show at the Pebble Beach Concours. 30 units of the new Bugatti will be built and it will be sold at a price of about 1.43 million euros, taxes excluded. Surely this car can’t get any more extreme….

Bugatti Veyron Bling

By Toni M.

gold and diamond veyron

Bet you didn’t know that scale model of the Bugatti Veyron could cost you more than the life size car did you?

While the real Veyron goes for a cool million, this hot piece of bling has gone on sale for £ 2 million and only three will be made.

This Bugatti replica is the work of Robert Gulpen of Munich & Stuart Hughes of Liverpool, and the result is a 1:18 scale Veyron fashioned from 24-carat gold and platinum, and its grille is a single cut 7.2-carat diamond and features a steering wheel that moves the front wheels, doors that open and a working roof mechanism. It weighs in at seven kilos.

Who’s going to get this for Christmas this year?

Bugatti Galibier concept video and pics

By Alison

Bugatti Galibier Concept

Here are pics and the official video of the Bugatti 16C Galibier Concept. The foor door supercar is in concept form and won’t be shown at Frankfurt Show this week, having been presented in Molsheim, France at centennial celebrations. The Galibier could become a production model by 2013 however, replacing the Veyron due to retire in 2012.

The engine is the same W12 as the Veyron, but with an eight-speed torque convertor automatic transmission. The body includes both alluminium and carbon fibre structure, and other features include the double opening bonnet in the style of the Bugatti’s from the 1930’s and a central sping running down the length of the hatch-style.

If it does make it into production, up to 300 could be made with pricing at about 900,000 pounds. Some of the interior has the luxury Bugatti touch with, for example, a Swissmade Parmigiani clock that can be removed to be worn as a wrist watch. The video is after the jump.

Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport at Pebble Beach

By Alison

Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport: le nuove foto ufficiali

A special edition Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport is set to appear at the Concours d’Elegance at Pebble Beach. The Grand Sport Sang Noir open-top could be revealed, equipped with the same engine as the coupe version.

The Veyron 16.4 open top would have a top speed of 360 km/hr, compared to the 407 km/hr of the coupe. 150 models of the special edition are reported to be planned, compared to 300 of the ‘normal’ Veyron.

This is likely the project that took the place of the Bordeaux we expected to see at the Frankfurt Motor Show, though a concept is apparently in the works. Hopefully, dreams still do come true and we will see the Bugatti super-sedan some time soon.

New Bugatti concept: no Bordeaux at the Frankfurt show

By Alison

Bugatti Bordeaux teaser

Previous reports of a Bugatti Bordeaux debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show have been played down by the company, with reports now revealing that a Bugatti concept will be presented prior to the event.

After a couple of grainy images were leaked purportedly of the Bugatti sedan, the company has stated that a concept car will instead be presented at Molsheim, France, as part of centennial celebrations. The presentation will take place in the presence of clients and prospective dealers to gauge interest in a future production vehicle.

While the auto world was excited about the prospect of the Bordeaux or new Royale, Bugatti’s current focus remains on the Veyron, with a special edition of the new Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport to be shown at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

Bugatti to reveal sedan at Frankfurt motor show?

By Alison

Bugatti sedan teaser

Audi is not the only manufacturer celebrating 100 years this year, with Bugatti also coming up for a century birthday. The above leaked pic is the scan of an invitation to an event at the September Frankfurt motor show, and rumour has it that Bugatti could reveal a brand new model.

The new model could be the much anticipated Bugatti sedan, although the image shows only a shady rear end that might not indicate a four-door Bugatti. The company is also set to replace the Veyron by 2012, meaning that the new model could be the first glimpse of the heir to the supercar.

While Autocar reports that Bugatti could also be developing a second model to compete with the Rolls Royce Phantom, another possibility could be a variation on the Veyron, as was the case at last year’s Geneva show. Here’s to waiting for September to roll around!

Top Gear compares McLaren F1 and Bugatti Veyron in drag race

By Alison

This is a video for the petrol head in you: one for the speed queen, turbo charged, adrenalin seeker who wants to see fast cars driven… fast. Top Gear compares the McLaren F1 and the Bugatti Veyron in what’s probably a gratuitous test for them to get out in some supercars and play around.

The “two fastest road cars of all time” get out for a speed test in which the only conclusion that can be made is not that they’re both very fast. They’re both stunning, absolutely breathtaking, to look at. And they’re both the stuff of dreams.

It may seem a little unfair to compare the Bugatti to a car that’s already ten years old, but the McLaren is no slack in mechanics and it’s lighter. For a hair raising race, and the result, see the video.

Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport: le nuove foto ufficiali

The Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport appears in these new pics showing one of the 150 models built, which have been on their way out of the Molsheim facility for at least a month now. It has been immortalised again in these pics of the vehicle cruising through a prestigious French vineyard.

It’s a totally over-the-top, exaggerated car. But we love it! Have a look at the Bugatti Veyron photo gallery to see the beauty of this car whose top speed has been reduced from 407 km/hr to a “mere” 360.

Which cars pollute the most? Here are the Top Ten

By Julia

Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Hermès (nuova colorazione)

Just out of curiousity: which cars pollute the most? Here, we list the Top Ten greatest producers of CO2 in the world. The winner is the Bugatti Veyron, but also Bentley made sure not to miss out, with its products well represented in the ranking.

Ferrari hardly pollutes less, but the latest creations of Cavallino, the 430 Scuderia and the California, end up at 360 e 310 g/km, respectively.
