Exclusive Pagani Zonda F Roadster live pics

These live pics of the Pagani Zonda F Roadster come from our guys at Autoblog.it who were lucky enough to spot it at the Bologna motor show. Not only that, our blogging colleague also got the chance to have a chat with Horacio’s nephew, who apparently revealed some information about the upcoming Pagani C9, but it was promised that the information would not go to print. In any case, we can expect a masterpiece with Pagani raising the bar yet again on its own hypercar models, and the C9 set to be a new benchmark.

The Pagani Zonda F Roadster you see in the pictures appeared in a corner of the Bologna motor show exhibition hall, guarded only by the young relative of the man himself. There was no glass to be got around - not even a red cord marking the area, which is something you see on much less prestigious and precious cars. Enjoy the pics below and if we get wind of what the information on the C9 was, in addition to Pagani’s plans for the US, we’ll let you know.

Fiat 500 Bicolore: 500 goes two-tone

By Alison

Two-tone Fiat 500 Bicolore

Thought that Fiat had run out of ideas for special editions of its 500? Wrong. Yet again we see another version of the Fiat 500 - this time a two-tone version that leaves us stunned by its inappropriateness for the type of car. The Fiat 500 Bicolore will be presented at the Bologna Motor Show as Fiat’s “most important” model at the show. That just about tells us what Fiat hasn’t got in the pipeline to show at its local, Italian event.

Unfortunately, the Italians aren’t really taking to this model, describing it as a coca cola 500 and saying they just can’t wait for the ‘tricolore’ model (three-tone). The latter is a reference to the Italian flag as well and would be an incarnation of some of the worst Italian stereotypes were it ever to be made. Here’s hoping Fiat won’t go that far. The Fiat 500 Bicolore includes the twin-tone red and white colours on the interior. It’s available on all Pop, Lounge and Sport 500 models and will be available in Italy from January.

Opel Antara restyling preview pics

By Alison

Opel Antara restlying

Here are the first pics of the Opel Antara restyling which will be presented at the Bologna Motor Show in December. The Opel SUV gets a few style updates as well as a new range of Euro 5 compliant engines. The 2.4-litre petrol engine gets an extra 30 hp, taking it 170 hp, while the 2.0-litre diesel engine is being replaced by a new 2.2 CDTI with two powersteps of 163 hp (an extra 36) or 184 hp (extra 34 hp). The two models get new electronic handbrake and Hill Holder technology.

The rear of the Antara gets the most touch-ups with a more elegant, less off-road rear bumper and redesigned registration plate and fog lights. There are new alloy 19-inch wheels, chrome finishes and LED technology, while on the interior the centre console has been redesigned. New materials have been used and the instrument panel has been updated, too. More to come when the show starts on December 4.

Fiat cancels appearance at Bologna motor show

By Alison

Fiat Logo

Drama in Italy after Fiat announces it will not be present at its home grown Bologna motor show, which for many Italians is like Mercedes saying it won’t attend Frankfurt. The news comes after Alfa MiTo production line workers are being retrenched, and the situation raises questions as to the future of the show.

Fiat had originally confirmed its presence, and the fact that it now won’t be attending, is sending ripples of uncertainty around the other exhibitors who have already confirmed their presence (including Ford, Peugeot, Porsche and Mercedes among others). BMW and Renault had already previously indicated they would not attend.

The fear is that this year could prove to be the swan song of the Bologna motor show, to the detriment of the Italian automobile sector and local market.
