BMW Serie 7 by Tuningwerk

BMW performance specialist Tuningwerk presents a new tuning package for the long wheelbase version of BMW 7-Series. The model is re-dubbed ‘NR 7′ and delivers 720 hp and 1090 Nm of maximum torque, figures that allow the car to get from 0 to 100km/h in just 3.5 seconds and reach a mind-blowing 350 km/h top speed. Tuningwerk did not reveal which sort of intervention was performed on the engine to make it achieve this impressive power, but it is likely they have been focusing on both turbocharger and exhaust system. Furthermore, the car is also 120 kg lighter than the standard model.

If all that power sounds a little too intimidating to you, Tuningwerk also offers a milder version of its NR 7 tuning program delivering 530 hp and 740 Nm of torque. Main performance figures for this package are 0-100kn/h sprint time of 4.2 seconds and top speed of 310 km/h. Tuningwerk’s BMW 7 series NR 7 most performing version is called “RS-Edition” and will be on sale for 198,000 € while the ‘quieter’ version, called “GT-Edition”, can be bought for 169,800 €.

Bmw Serie 7 M-Sport

The first images of the BMW Series 7 M-Sport version have been released. It comes equipped with the new 3.0-litre twin turbo diesel at 306 hp, called the 740d. You might be a little disappointed with the “sports” moniker, given that the V8 twin turbo is not even offered.

What’s not under the bonnet though, has been put into the style, with extra chrome features, more agressive bumpers and M-design wheels. The interior dash shows alluminium trim, though further details on the M-Sport package haven’t been released.

Compared to the current version, the power step (at 4,400 rpm), will be supported by 600 Nm (20 more than previously), at only 1,500 rpm, rather than 1,750. This evolution will also influence driving dynamics, but no communication on price increase has been released.

New spy photos and details of the Rolls-Royce RR4

By Alison

rolls royce rr4

As declared by Ian Robertson in Geneva, the Rolls-Royce RR4 will arrive in 2010. The “small” model will appear with many novelties, some of which are difficult to swallow.

The last time we touched on the topic, we discussed the possible adoption of a turbodiesel engine, hypothesis adopted also by auto.cz. It appears as though this small crime will be committed. Robertson, in the hall, also spoke about technical novelties which will appear on the RR4, starting with the “new engines”.

The engines, according to reports, should be the 6.0 V12 petrol at 445 bhp from the BMW series 7 and the infamous diesel motor. Compared to the current 1000 units a year, managment is expecting a revolution in terms of sales volume from the RR4, which will be the middle ground between the new BMW series 7 and the Rolls-Royce Phantom, filling a hole which could produce some good profits.
