Here is the complete gallery of the BMW Series 5 GT, as released by BMW. With this first crossover model, BMW shows itself a real competitor in the MPV segment as never before. The “Gran Turismo” initials indicate that the Series 5 has been designed with long trips in mind, but without renouncing on the sports style of the Elica Blu premium brand.
The GT Series 5 is equipped with a debut engine: the 4.4 litre V8 twin turbo at 400 hp, that equips the 550i. A new eight speed automatic transmission appears, and although the Series 5 GT has an imposing look, the performance is relatively modest. It reaches 100 km/hr in just 5.4 seconds and has a top speed of 240 km/hr. A four seater interior has been designed, with fourth generation iDrive system.

The disc brakes suggest a sports engine, but could also be a feature of the concept car. No technical details are available as yet, but we’ll be checking it out when the Geneva motor show comes around.
