Tuner Anderson Germany unveils its latest creation: the Audi S8 Superior Grey Edition. The model is not based on the current S8 model (equipped with a 4.0 V8 unit), it is a tuning of the previous Audi S8 version, powered by a 5.2-litre V10. However, this is likely to mean that the S8 Superior Grey Edition is just a customer project, as the fact that only images and no specs have been released would confirm.

Looking at these pictures, we can see that Anderson Germany provided the model with a captivating matt black paint job as well as an unique aerodynamic bodykit, carbon fibre wing mirror shells and grille surrounds, smoked rear lights, blackened rear windows, shiny black alloys and more black chrome accents here and there. The interior also looks particularly well-mad, with carbon fibre bits and quilted leather upholstery.

The Audi S8 will head the onslaught of Audi S models at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. Backed up by the Audi S6, S7 and even the S6 Avant, it will be a veritable Audi tuning fest. The Audi S8 is so impressive that the elegant flagship sedan-limousine look belies what they’ve placed under the bonnet.

A new engine for the Audi S8 comes in the form of the 4.0-litre V8 TFSI twinturbo unit with direct injection. A name nothing short of Bentley has been involved in developing this engine and the S8 gets all-wheel drive and an eight-speed dual clutch gearbox to go with it.

That means the new Audi S8 gets 520 hp and 650 Nm of torque, good for a sprint to 100 km/hr of just 4.2 seconds and top speed of 250 km/hr. That is one serious super sedan. Audi still claims reduced fuel consumption on the new model at 10.2 l/100 km which is 23 percent less than the old S8, thanks to standard Start&Stop technology and valve management system. The pics show the S8 as we’re alread familiar with it from the A8, but when the S8 first drives come out, we’ll be watching.

Here’s the official video of the new Audi A8 sedan, including some road footage and beauty shots to get a closer look. The new A8 will debut first with the 4.2-litre TFSI V8 engine with 372 hp, followed by the TDI V8 with 350 hp. We also get a look at the new MMI multimedia system with touch pad function.

Talk is already occurring on when we will see the S8 sports version as well. Autocar reports that the S8 will set the design benchmark for the future performance models from Audi. The new design language will subsequently appear on the Audi S1, S6 and S7. This also confirms that we will see “S” versions of the Audi A7 and new A1 hatch, and they will hopefully include greater stylistic differences than the current S range provides over the standard models.

These Audi S8 spy shots are from Autogespot reader, Michael Biro, and show the new sporty S8 testing in the Austrian mountains. The Audi A8 will be replaced by a new model, substituting the V10 engine for possibly an aspirated V8 with about 450 hp. Audi should also produce a lighter and more economical version for the future.

The S8 shown here has classic Audi design, with a few changes to the grill, sportier bumpers, a new set of alloys and a redesigned exhaust. The new Audi A8 could be revealed by the end of this month, while details on the release of the S8 are unknown.
