Here is the new logo to celebrate Audi’s 100th anniversary. While initially I thought it would be difficult to re-design but still keep the simple, minimalist logo, the restyled look is effective without being revolutionary.
The classic rings have a sharper, more definitive quality with a chromed, three dimensional look. The calligraphy on the word “Audi” is now re-positioned and has a more modern style, giving the spotlight to the iconic inter-linked four rings. Below is the old logo so you can compare.

This Audi A8 teaser shot doesn’t tell us anything about the new car, apart from the now trade mark Audi LED lights. The car appears with Michael Dick, Audi’s Board Member for Technical Development, and the sedan is completely covered with a sheet.
The World Car Fans site makes some suppositions as the new A8, suggesting it’s shorter and has a more angular rear windshield that what has appeared in official sketches. The teaser shot is said to have appeared in promotional material for Audi’s 100th anniversary.
The A8 was set to debut at the Frankfurt show in September, but apparently this appearance has been postponed. The car has been planned for a 2010 release to the market, and will have four engine options, including petrol and diesel versions of a V8 3.0 and 4.2 litre.

On July 16 Audi will turn 100 and the headquarters at Ingolstadt is fervently preparing to celebrate the Audi anniversary with more than just an event. The company is planning a new commemorative Audi model for the 100 years.
Nothing is known about this new model as yet, though a Rennsport version, such as the RS3 or the RS5 has been excluded. More probable is a celebratory special R8 version, though no speculation on possible models will be confirmed until summer.
