This new Audi A7 spy shots shows the latest phase of winter testing for the Audi coupe-sedan, with what appears to be a retractable rear wing. With the coupe style, we could be looking at something similar to the system used on the Audi TT and Audi R8, in addition to some of the mules of the RS5.
It looks like future, more exclusive, Audi models will be equipped with this feature to improve aerodynamics and sports feel. The new Audi A7 will debut sometime in the course of 2010, in what could prove to be an important year for Audi with presentations of the all new Audi A1 and Q5 hybrid.

The Audi Q5 hybrid has been confirmed and will be presented most likely at the 2010 Paris motor show, with production starting for a market appearance at the beginning of 2011. The Q5 will be the first Audi hybrid model to be produced, and will be one of the significant models presented in 2010, along with the new Audi A1 and Audi A7.
No technical details of the Q5 hybrid have been released, although it should include the 3.2-litre V6 petrol engine combined with lithium ion batteries. The new hybrid model will contribute to the 42 model line-up planned for 2015, increased from Audi’s current line up of 34 models. 7.3 billion euros are being invested in the development of new models to achieve this aim.
Here is a spy video of the new Audi A6 or Audi A7, coming all the way from Mexico. The video was taken in the town of Puebla, which is home to Volkswagen Group production facilities. While no Audis are known to be produced or tested there, it still points to a VAG vehicle, which could have the Volkswagen badge rather than the Audi badge. Reports say that it’s too big to be an Audi A8, and if it’s a Volkswagen, bets are on the new Phaeton at this stage.

The new Audi A7, appearing here in three renderings, will show off new performance standards, elegance and quality in the luxury sedan/coupè segment. At least, this is the stated intention from the Ingolstadt manufacturer.
The model is expected for 2010 and will have its place in Audi’s future plans to broaden the range, which sees 17 new models and ambitious attempts to increase sales by 50 percent in seven years.
the A7 will be in direct competition with the Mercedes CLS in this segment. And to manage this, it will be heavily equipped with some new technology. Stefan Sielaff, head of design at Audi, has confirmed that this four-door coupè will be a new direction for Audi and its range.

Coming from Audi in Poland is this “authoritative” document that shows the future engine plans of the manufacturer. Rear wheel drive should debut towards the end of next year, and in addition to the current 1.4 TFSI and we should also see a 1.2 TFSI 86 hp, recently seen on the Seat Ibiza revealed.

Third and final installment of the official sketches leaked by the Audi Design Team to Car Magazine. After the Audi A1 hatch and Audi R8 spider, we can now see how the Audi A7 will look.
The Audi A7 is Ingolstadt’s answer to the Mercedes-Benz CLS. It will be shown to the public at the New York auto show 2008 and it will be in showrooms by september 2009.
The sketch shows us a sleek four-door car, with a swept-back roof line, wide wheel arches and big square exhaust tubes.
The A7 will use the same platform as the next Audi A6, based on the modular MLB system, with a new steering mechanism, new multilink suspensions and a revised Quattro four-wheel drive system. The new weight distribution made possible by MLB, together with the rear bias of the new Quattro system should make the A7 more of a drivers’ car than the current A6, according to Car Magazine.
