Audi showed up at the 2012 North American International Auto Show with a few interesting models. Arguably the most sought-after model of the lot is the Q3 Vail Concept, a show car that anticipates the ‘RS’ version of the popular Q3 SUV from the German carmaker. Under its bonnet pulses a 2.5-litre TFSI engine producing 314 hp and 400 Nm of peak torque, which provides the car with a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time of 5.5 seconds with 262 km/h (163 mph).
Another interesting presence at the Audi stall in Detroit is the new generation of the Audi A6, the new sedan from the four-ring house, powered by a brand new 4.0-litre twin turbo TFSI V8 delivering 420 hp and 550 Nm of torque. It is the same unit used by the Audi S8 and the newly unveiled Bentley Continental GT V8 range, although with modified supercharger and electronics.
The third important model brought to Detroit by the Ingolstadt-based carmaker is the Audi A4 Allroad, which has just undergone its mid-life restyling. Check them all out in our photo gallery taken at the Audi stand in Detroit.

Audi has released three official videos starring the new A4, S4 and A4 Allroad. All three models just went through a mid-life restyling which - among other things - provided the whole lot with a revised front end design now featuring new LED day lights (aligned to what we have seen on the recent A6, A7 and A8). Besides, all versions will benefit from new suspension settings and Audi’s own electromechanical power steering, which can save up to 0,3 l/100 km of fuel.
The engine range includes the 2.0 TDI (available with 5 power steps: 120, 136, 143, 163 and 177 hp) and the 3.0 V6 TDI (204 and 245 hp) diesel engines as well as the 1.8 TFSI (120 and 170 hp), the 2.0 TFSI (211 hp) and the 3.0 TFSI (272 hp) petrol engines, while the S4 will use a 333 hp configuration the same 3.0 TFSI. The refined mechanics led to an average 11% reduction of both CO2 emissions and fuel consumption for the whole range. Click the link below for the other videos and full photo galleries

These spy shots of Audi A4 Allroad - spotted while testing in Southern Europe - prove that the model is getting ready for a restyling. Judging by these pictures, it looks like the front is the part that will be more heavily affected by the next upgrade, sporting a new design of the headlights that is quite similar to what we have seen for the new A5 range. Besides, the single-frame front grille has a different shape too. Under the bonnet, the next A4 Allroad is likely to use the same engines as the the renewed A5 range: a brand new 1.8 TFSI engine delivering 170 hp and a 2.0 TDI delivering 177 hp and 380 Nm of maximum torque. The new Audi A4 line, Allroad version included, i scheduled to make its debut in early 2012.
Audi A6 allroad has been a successful product. So successful the German automaker has decided to offer the allroad version in another range, the A4 line-up. The new car will be offered soon after this year’s Geneva Motor Show, where the A4 allroad will be officialy unveiled to the public.
The new crossover is 3.7 cm taller than the current A4 Avant (with a ground clearance of 18 cm). It also presents a 2 cm larger wheel track. In order to make its off-road appearance more credible, the car also offers the all wheel drive system quattro. Engines will be a petrol 211 bhp 2-litre TFSI unit and two turbodiesel powerplants, a 170 bhp 2-litre TDI and a 240 bhp 3-litre TDI. Sales will begin in Europe from this month on.
