These shots give us the first chance of a peek inside the interior of the car, where we can see the sports style with quilted seating and sports pedals. I want one!!
Alfa Romeo MiTo Veloce first pics from Amsterdam
The most important premiere at the AutoRAI show in Amsterdam is the Alfa Romeo MiTo Veloce, which serves as a lead up in the range to the more powerful MiTo GTA.
The MiTo Veloce will have the 1.4 litre T-Jet engine at 180 hp, and is said to reach 0-100 km/hr in 7.5 seconds - fast, for a small car. The top speed is said to be 215 km/hr, and the car will be slightly different from the standard MiTo with larger disc brakes. For more MiTo Veloce details, see our previous post. More pics coming up.

Alfa Romeo MiTo: new "Veloce" at 180 hp on its way
The current top-of-the-range Alfa Romeo MiTo is represented by the 1.4 Turbo petrol engine at 155hp. At the Geneva show, however, the MiTo GTA was presented with its new 1750 turbo at 240 hp, and now the gap between these two examples is set to close with the introduction of the MiTo Veloce.
This new MiTo speed version should be equipped with the same 1.4 l turbo, but with a power step up to 180 hp. This new model means the MiTo could reach 100 km/hr in 7.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 215 km/hr.
Externally, features distinguishing the Veloce model would be stickers on the body work and windshield, different coloured mirrors and low rear spoiler, 18-inch wheels and bodykit. Technical aspects include a Koni suspension kit and larger disc brakes.

The best from the Alfa Romeo MiTo GTA Concept videos
After so many spy shots, viral videos and news over the last week, we choose some of the more significant videos of the Alfa Romeo MiTo GTA Concept in Valencia. Alfa had released 26 videos in total, clearly very taken with the viral video marketing phenomenon.
For your vintage Alfa viewing pleasure, there are shots of the Giulia Sprint GTA in a friendly race with the MiTo. One of the videos appears to confirm that under the bonnet of the MiTo GTA sits a diesel engine. While this might worry some Alfa fans, in Switzerland at least, the TBi will be on offer. Alfa Romeo MiTo GTA videos and a Giulia Sprint
To continue our news on Italian cars today, we take another look at the Alfa Romeo MiTo GTA concept. It has been seen all over the place in the last few days, and here are some videos of the snappy city car taken around the Valencia formula one city circuit.

Alfa Romeo MiTo GTA Concept images confirmed
After the first official Alfa Romeo MiTo GTA pic leaked out a few days ago, and yesterday’s MiTo spy shots, these three images confirm the first pic seen and constitute Alfa’s official pics release, so far.
It’s hard to make a judgement so far with the computer graphic reconstruction and claims that the car is not that graceful. Whatever the case, we should remember this an extreme sports city car with a carbon roof perhaps not designed on Alfa’s most elegant lines.
Some figures have emerged too, with the 1.750 TBi at 240hp and a maximum speed of about 300 km/hr confirming its serious power. We’re still waiting for details on how much this MiTo has actually reduced in weight. More videos to come.
Alfa Romeo MiTo GTA Concept spy shots
Carscoop has snapped the Alfa Romeo MiTo GTA Concept in video filming on the streets of Valencia, leading us to wonder if it isn’t time to drop the word “concept” from its name. The little Alfa Romeo might be small, but it should have plenty of performance and a provocative look to make up for its size.
While the contrasting roof, rear extractor and the bronzed headlights might be too much, when it comes into production we could see a sweetened version of this car. Until then, we’ll have to make do with these MiTo spy shots.

Alfa Romeo MiTo GTA Concept pic
This looks to be the first official pic of Alfa Romeo’s MiTo GTA Concept, expected at Geneva along with the Alfa 159 MY09 vehicle. The pic comes from a Dutch Alfa blog and should get the hearts racing of many Alfa fans.
The first figures regarding this car have emerged: the 1.8 litre turbo with direct injection could reach up to 240hp, but the GTA letters could get even more meaningful with a hypothetical 1150 to 1200 kg weight.
Alfa Romeo Mi.To: sprint version?
Plenty of news has surrounded the Alfa MiTo lately, with the MiTo GTA set for a Geneva debut, the guys at 4Car have revealed that we could also see a coupé of the zippy little Alfa.
The MiTo coupé would be called the Junior, and would be closely linked to the Lancia Fulvia as well, according to 4Car. We are a little more cautious about this project though, and will content ourselves with the Alfa MiTo GTA for the moment, which will have some impressive performance figures as is.

Alfa Romeo: prospects for 2009 in car the industry
It may seem impossible with the current economic crisis to find a car manufacturer upbeat about 2009’s prospects for the car industry. But Alfa Romeo’s Luca de Meo is positive that the new year will be a good year for Alfa, especially with sales of the new MiTo, expected to reach between 60 and 70,000 units. 2009 will also herald the arrival of the new Alfa 149 in the final quarter, as well as an update on the 159 model.
If things go really well Alfa could even experience a sales increase on 2008, to between 115,000 and 120,000 cars. This is despite postponing the US Alfa launch, as the local market in Italy is likely to be the strongest with around 52,000 vehicles predicted to be sold. 2008 was a tough year for the Italian market, with the marketing director, Francesco Cimmino, saying that request was down on 2007 levels.

Alfa Romeo MiTo: UK arrival next week
From the start of next week, every Alfa Romeo dealership in the UK will display a least one example of the new MiTo in stores around Britain.
This phase of the commercialisation of the small Milan car represents a baptism of fire for the MiTo on Mini territory. The Italian rival has now entered the den and will attempt to steal sales from the successful British/German city car.
The car can be ordered from November 1 with prices starting at 10,975 pounds (about 13,700 euros) for the base model of the range, which includes the 1.4 litre, 95hp Turismo engine. Deliveries start from January 24 2009.
Alfa Romeo stand features Brera and 8C
At the Alfa Romeo stand at the Paris Motor Show, if you were feeling a little disappointed by the cold but clean colour of white, you only had to turn around to be captivated by the sparkling red of the 8C in full view, and even a splendid 33 Daytona from 1968 (not mention some nice looking girls who Alfa chose to strut their stuff among the vehicles).
After the Mi.To debut, the only other novelty is the Brera Turismo Internazionale which is truly a muscular pin-up for Alfa, though the Competizione colour version is an expensive and elite choice. If turning heads is your aim though, you can’t go wrong.
