Autobild tests the Alfa 8C Spider, and while I can’t understand most of what’s going on, it certainly looks impressive, described as a “cult-convertible” from “another planet” (I gather they liked it). In a previous test of the 8C Spider, we heard that it was one of the best spider interpretations of a coupe that’s on the market. It has a Ferrari engine and a Maserati chassis, so there’s no problem with the pedigree. If you don’t speak German, you’ll want to see this video anyway to hear the engine noise!
The Alfa Romeo 8C Spider, open-top version of the acclaimed 8C Competizione, will be available for sale from July 2009. As revealed by the German magazine AutoBild, the dream car from Alfa will cost 212,000 euros in Germany.
The 500 units planned by Alfa Romeo are already completed sold out, with the German market taking 116 cars. Any increase in production has been categorically excluded.

The news that Alfa Romeo will debut in the US is finally confirmed, with the date being in the first quarter of 2010. It could be that 2010 has been chosen as the launch, as it’s the 100th anniversary of the brand. 2010 should also see the presentation of the 8C Competizione GTA.
The 8C will provide some great publicity to the brand, despite only 100 units being destined for the US. It will be available exclusively as a coupè model with a 4.7 litre V8 engine at 500hp. The price will be above 280,000 euros and therefore destined for fans who can afford it.
At the Alfa Romeo stand at the Paris Motor Show, if you were feeling a little disappointed by the cold but clean colour of white, you only had to turn around to be captivated by the sparkling red of the 8C in full view, and even a splendid 33 Daytona from 1968 (not mention some nice looking girls who Alfa chose to strut their stuff among the vehicles).
After the Mi.To debut, the only other novelty is the Brera Turismo Internazionale which is truly a muscular pin-up for Alfa, though the Competizione colour version is an expensive and elite choice. If turning heads is your aim though, you can’t go wrong.

On the threshold of its centenary, Alfa Romeo is undergoing one of the most ambitious restructing plans in its history.
The news for the next phase of the Alfa story has left some Alfa fans a bit dry in the mouth. All the talk of rear wheel drive, the US and new models to be waited on haven’t been so comforting.
But perhaps it’s not all doom and gloom for the future of the brand. As Luca De Meo has revealed to auto, motor und sport, the MiTo is only the first step in the relaunch of the Italian company’s image.

The greatest compliment one can give to a sports car is saying that it awakens all of your strongest instincts. Only some supercars deserve this title, while unofficial it’s indicative of their true value.
The soft and sensual curves of the Alfa 8C Spider have seduced our colleagues over at CarScoop and we also have to admit it’s difficult to be indifferent to its magnetic fascination.
Here is a dream photo gallery of this beautiful car. With thanks to joker1372.
