Autodelta tuning company has given the Alfa Romeo 159 a boost, creating the Alfa 159 J4 3.2 C. The 159 now has a compressor with intercooler attached to the 3.2-litre JTS V6 engine with 260 hp. The effect is an increase in power to 352 hp and a maximum torque of 435 Nm.
In addition to the technical updates, the Alfa 159 gets modifications to the chassis, brakes and suspension, as well as the electronic components. In the past, Autodelta has also introduced the compressor to the Alfa 159 2.2 JTS, calling it the J4 2.2 C. Other versions available include the Alfa Brera and Alfa Spider, called J5 and J6 respectively. Check out the mean looking machine below.

Autocar is reporting on both the Alfa Romeo Milano and the Alfa Giulia models, which are set to replace the Alfa 147 and the Alfa 159 respectively. As initially suspected, both the new Alfa models will use the C-Evo platform currently employed on the Fiat Bravo.
The C-Evo (or C-Evoluzione) platform basically improves chassis and suspension performance, with a longer wheel base (hence the larger dimension of the Alfa Milano compared to the 147) and improved suspension. The platform has been designed to be flexible enough to adapt to different car designs and makes, meaning that re-engineering is reduced to a minimum.
Entry level Giulia models will have front wheel, with Q4 all-wheel drive being an option. Further options include the new DNA system included on the MiTo, and Active Roll Control. The Alfa Giulia should also be lighter than the 159.

Alfa Romeo will be releasing some new engine options over the next few months, including two new turbos: a 1.8L TBi direct injection petrol at 200hp, and a 2.0L JTDm at 170hp. These two new engines should appear on the Brera and Spider, completing the technical updates to the 159 family which had been left unfinished.
The Brera and Spider, thanks to the new turbodiesel, will consume only 5.4l/100km, with CO2 emissions of 142g/km. The TBi will have 8.1l/100km of fuel consumption with 192g/km of emissions.
The Alfa 159 should see some new ECO versions based on the turbodiesels: a 1.9L, 120hp with 138 g/km of CO2 (down from 159), and a new 2.0L, 170hp with 136 g (down from 142). With these new options, Alfa is not only extending its engine range, but increasing its environmentally friendly qualifications as well.
This looks to be the first official pic of Alfa Romeo’s MiTo GTA Concept, expected at Geneva along with the Alfa 159 MY09 vehicle. The pic comes from a Dutch Alfa blog and should get the hearts racing of many Alfa fans.
The first figures regarding this car have emerged: the 1.8 litre turbo with direct injection could reach up to 240hp, but the GTA letters could get even more meaningful with a hypothetical 1150 to 1200 kg weight.
These preview shots are of the Alfa Romeo 159 Model Year 2009 to be soon presented at the Geneva motor show. The photos come from Fiat’s press site, though they haven’t released any further information on the model as yet; these shots were first picked up by French Fiat fans.
The most important news of the model is likely to be the new 1.8 litre turbo direct injection engine at 200hp, with a TBi label.
The car should also sport some front wheel drive with electronic autobloc differential, Q2, and a six-speed manual transmission. A six-speed automatic will also be on offer, and all other information is expected shortly. (Thanks to reader “a1″ for the tip).

In England Alfa Romeo has released a new Alfa 159 to celebrate its appearance in the latest James Bond Film, 007 Quantum of Solace. The James Bond Limited Edition Alfa Romeo 159 takes on some aspects of the Aston Martin DBS in the film, in the black colour, lowered base, red Brembo brake calipers and 19-inch wheels. The interior features black leather and red illuminated instrumentation.
Available in 250 units only on the English market, the 159 Limited Edition has a price of 22,000 pounds, about 26,000 euros, with a 1.9 litre JtgM engine at 150hp.

Alfa Romeo’s aim to reach 300,000 unit sales a year remains, despite delaying the US re-launch and the general global economic climate at the moment.
To achieve this goal though, Alfa will have to undertake the roll-over from the current range, to the new, relatively quickly. This includes the 159 range, which is quite young and already suffering from the faults of its predecessors, for example the heavy weight, which penalises the Brera and Spider sports models.
From next year however, according to De Meo, things will change significantly, thanks to the arrival of a new generation of engines with highlights in the 1.4L and 1.8L T-jet. The 159 model won’t be receiving any susbstantial updates for 2009, leaving space for a completely new model which will apparently be more compact and lighter, and that will be equipped with smaller engines.

The highly anticipated Alfa Romeo 149 could bring to its debut the C-Evo platfrom, a modified version of that currently used on the Fiat Bravo and Lancia Delta. In fact, only the pedal area would be in line with the current base, while 90 percent would be completely new and planned with an eye on driving pleasure.
The C-Evo could also become the base for the longer version and heir to the 159, with a name such as Giulia, and also for the future SUV which will be the first for Alfa.

Spy photos of an Alfa Romeo 159 test mule have been doing the rounds these last few weeks, and everyone suspects that it’s a 159 GTA test mule, due to its 4 menacing exhaust tubes and the camouflage that presumably hides air vents and a bump on the hood. We all hope that the engine will be a Ferrari/Maserati V8 (either the 4.2-liter of the Maserati Granturismo o the 4.7-liter of the 8C Competizione).
The latest sighting was at the Nburgring, the “de rigueur” proving ground for all aspiring sports-cars. Sadly there are no indications about the sound of the engine.
The australian site that published these images writes that the 159 GTA might be shown at the next Geneva auto show (march 2008).
