These days it seems before you’re allowed any pictures, news, juicy gossip or announcements of new products, you have to first sign up as a friend or fan (what happened to foe??) on a Facebook group. From the auto world, tuning house ABT seems to be the latest to indulge in a social networking campaign to launch its new Audi A1 by ABT.
The ABT A1 will be presented in August and will include the usual engine tuning to get more power, and sports accessories including alloy wheels and new suspension components. New designs for the A1 from ABT can be chosen by Facebook fans on the site from July 28 to August 11. We don’t even have a picture to show you at this stage, not having signed up as a fan yet, but we’ll be bringing you more news when we don’t have to befriend ourselves first.
This ABT tuning of the Audi TT-RS takes the five cylinder, 2.5-litre engine from 340 hp to 420 hp thanks to a new intercooler and electronics system. Top speed is now 282 km/hr and acceleration to 100 km/hr takes just 4.3 seconds. Aerodynamics are the same, while the ABT-designed alloy wheels are new.

The moment has arrived for the Audi Q7, V12 TDI version, to undergo an ‘ABT’ makeover. The amazing SUV with its V12 engine, developed on the competition Audi R10, will see its power increase from 500 to 560 hp, and the torque will go up from 1000 Nm to 1200 Nm. No official news is available as to the Q7 tuning, but reports have 0-100 km/hr figures at just 5.3 seconds, and a top speed of 258 km/hr.
