Stay with us on the making a tribute line here as we say that Italian SACS boat builder has made this tribute to the Abarth 695 which was a tribute to Ferrari in the first place. Got it? After previous collaborations with Lancia and Abarth, SACS has created this “Abarth 695 Tribute Ferrari” dinghy which doesn’t come with any technical details at this stage.

What we do get is talk of the style of the new boat, which comes in various colours, featuring Abarth tribute badges, carbon-look panels and red stitching. Only 199 of these will be made and if it happens to be equipped with any one of the three 350-hp V8 outboards that SACS fitted to its previous Abarth effort, it could sell well.

A new Abarth 500C “Esseesse” edition will be revealed at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show. The model will have the added performance of the ‘SS’ kit, improved handling and better safety. The new Abarth 500C will be presented at the show in the newly introduced Grigio Campovolo and Grigio Pista colours, with white chrome trim. Additional features of the new Esseesse family member will be a “Record Monza” exhaust system with dual mode, Blue&Me satellite navigator and a new five-speed gearbox from the second quarter of this year.

Also at Geneva will be the new Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari with Blue Abu Dhabi and Grigio Titanio livery, designed to celebrate the success of the special edition model of the same name. The 695 Tributo Ferrari went on sale in July in 2010 and has sold 1,000 units since then, with half of those going to the UK, French, German and Japanese markets. The 500 model has provided Abarth with huge success. About 1,800 Abarth 500C models have been sold since mid-2010, adding to another 1,400 Abarth Punto Evo models.

We’ll admit that these live pics of the Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari at the Frankfurt motor show make it look more like the Fiat 500 pink, but it is still a head-turning crowd pleaser. Clearly, Abarth likes the attention, setting up its miniature car grenade right next door to Ferrari.

The Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari has a manual transmission with steering wheel paddles, carbon fibre inserts, rear spoiler and, of course, a Scuderia Ferrari red paint job. The 1.4-litre T-Jet engine has 180 hp and the Abarth gets to 100 km/hr in less than seven seconds.

If you think you’re in the market for one of these though, think again. According to reports the Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari costs more than 40,000 euros and with a production run of just over 1,000, it’s intended as the daily run-about for those customers who are already keeping their Ferrari in the garage.
