What you’re looking in these pics is the craziest version of the Abarth 500 around. The Romeo Ferraris Cinquone model is inspired by the Fiat 500 “Cinquone” (meaning “big five”) which ran at the Vallelunga six-hour race in Italy. The Cinquone Stradale street going model has a brand style and hefty-looking body kit with bigger bumpers, new air intakes on the bonnet and twin exhaust pipes.
On the inside of the Romeo Ferraris tuning we get a roll bar, shell-style racing seats and Alcantara finishings. The model uses the 1.4 T-Jet with 300 hp and weighs just over 1,000 kg. According to Italy’s Repubblica paper, the Romeo Ferraris Cinquone price is about 80,000 euros. More info to come.

Abarth will be at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show with three new models to present. The Abarth 500 Cabrio Italia comes in exclusive Abu Dhabi Blue paint with black roof, tinted rear windows and chrome accents. It will equip the 1.4-litre TJet engine packing 120 hp and 230 Nm of torque.
The Abarth 500 Cabrio Italia model comes with a five-speed manual gearbox and is capable of hitting 100 km/hr in 7.4 seconds. The model gets EsseEsse brakes with four-piston front calipers in yellow, bi-xenon headlights, Sabelt leather sports seats with carbonfibre backs and a glass-aluminium pedal and gearstick finish. As the colour already suggests, the 500 Cabrio Italia will get a production run of 150 units to celebrate Italy’s anniversary of unification.
The Abarth Punto SuperSport is a new Punto tuned model in two-tone colours of grey and matte black. It has new exterior graphics, 18-inch blacked-out wheels with red brake calipers and EsseEsse system. The engine is the 1.4 Multiair with 180 hp and 270 Nm of torque. It has a top speed of 216 km/hr and acceleration to 100 km/hr of 7.5 seconds. The Punto SuperSport gets an EsseEsse suspension kit, new exhaust and the same lightweight Sabelt seats with contrasting stitching.

I drive a car that’s got less than 101 hp and while I don’t have the driving skills to pull this stuff off, I’m pretty sure the little (and old) car could cope. It might need to go to the wreckers after, but it would do the job. Just like this hooning Fiat 500 from the US with its 1.4 Multair engine (but which survives better than my little vehicle would).
It gets a few 180 turns in with plenty of tyre squealing and a little smoke. We didn’t see any of this sort of thing from the Italians when the new Fiat 500 first hit the market, so we’re relying on the Americans to show us what the pocket rocket can really do. Although we suspect that some of these shenanigans might well have occurred with the original Fiat 500 in more than one Italian piazza back in the days.
In any case, the title of “pocket rocket” is probably best reserved for the upcoming US Abarth 500 model soon to hit North America. The sportier version might really indicate whether the pint-sized European car is a success or not in the US and it’s set to have up to 220 hp, so we’re expecting more of these videos to come.

What do you say to an Abarth 500 getting fitted with all-wheel drive and some EsseEsse tech and becoming this Fiat 500 Coupe Zagato Elaborata model in bright orange Lamborghini paint? The original Fiat 500 Coupé Zagato was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year and has been confirmed for a limited production run, but this is a very different beast.
The Scagliarini Fiat 500 has been commissioned by a customer from the Arab Emirates and is equipped with a 1.4-litre engine with 180 hp. The difference from the original Zagato model is the replacement of the rear windows with body panels. A carbonfibre aerodynamic bodykit is on offer with splitter and rear spoiler and extractor.
The Arancio Lamborghini paintjob covers the lot but we’re particularly taken with the idea of this little Abarth 500 going 4×4. Other features include Alcantara seats and Brembo brakes.
The Fiat 500 has done well for itself so far in America (or not?), but the US Abarth 500 is on its way to show just what the little rocket can do when tuned by the scorpion badge. The US Abarth 500 will debut at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show in November, and will be a number one competitor to the Mini Cooper on that market. How much room for compact sports models there is in America is anyone’s guess, but apparently the US-spec Abarth 500 will get a more powerful 175-hp 1.4-litre turbo Multiair engine than its European cousin can boast. And that should give it some extra appeal. Here’s to seeing where Fiat can take this little bomb, too.

The Abarth 500 model destined for the US, like the plain Fiat 500, could be a different version from the European model, according to Fiat and Chrysler engineers. After Autoblog.com got a suprise test drive of the Abarth 500, they say that the hotted-up version will get similar changes as the Fiat 500 to appeal to the US market.
Some of the Abarth 500 changes will be aimed at meeting more stringent US crash requirements - specifically the model will need a rear crash standard. More exciting news comes in the form of rear axle modifications with suspension based on the NAFTA 500 model. The US Abarth should also get Fiat’s Multiair valvetrain.
That Multiair technology should guarantee the Abarth 500 at least 175 hp and top-end torque of about 230 Nm. More changes should include updated front seats which allow for better rear-seat access, cruise-control steering-wheel commands and side airbags that go to the roof. If the same process is followed as that of the Fiat 500, we could see these changes on the Abarth make it to Europe in the future.
I don’t know about you but the idea of driving around in a Fiat 500 tuned to have 212 hp under the bonnet makes me a little nervous. But I guess if its a Novitec Abarth 500 then it makes it okay. This Abarth 500 gets the Novitec NT-4 Corse treatment which takes the original 135 hp to 212 hp, and torque is up to a whopping 325 Nm as well. The new figures have been achieved thanks to a new turbine, larger injector units, a sports air filter and exhaust set-up and new engine mapping system.
That makes this a real pocket rocket, with the Novitec Abarth 500 getting to 100 km/hr in 6.8 seconds and having a top speed of 223 km/hr. We can clearly see the lowered wheel base in the pictures (a full 3.5 cm lower) and a dedicated suspension kit is available, too. A new look includes 17 or 18-inch wheels and aerodynamic kit with larger spoilers. If the 212 hp is a little too hair-raising, two other powersteps of 178 and 164 hp are available as well.
If I were at Fiat, I’d be having a few heart flutterings right now as the company releases the first images of the Fiat 500 US market model. The Fiat-Chrysler deal foresees the return of Alfa Romeo to the US, but the company decided to launch instead with the pint-sized Mini competitor. The guys at Autoblog.com have so far described it as ‘adorable’ and comments are positive, which is a step in the right direction at this stage.
It won’t be easy though, and the Fiat 500 could be a make or break model for the future of the company on US shores. In the meantime though, Fiat is making some sensible decisions about its launch model, equipping it with the impressive 1.4-litre Multiair engine for a start and planning its Abarth 500 models for a 2011 appearance.
The Fiat 500 Sport model (the red one in these pics) should also satisfy those wanting a bit more grunt in the cute appearance - it will be equipped with 16-inch alloy wheels, tinted brake calipers, chrome exhaust, side skirts and, on the technical front, stiffer suspension. It will appear in the range alongside the Pop and Lounge models, which in the future will expand to include a cabriolet offering, too.

Think of a small car and a big price tag and you’ve got what the Spanish would have to pay if they wanted the hotted up Abarth 500 in the form of the special edition 695 Tributo Ferrari. It’s exclusive, yes, but surely not that exclusive with its 1.4-litre engine delivering 180 hp and a fancy paint job.
We’ve already looked at the multiple versions of the Fiat 500 and Abarth 500 out there but surely things are getting out of hand. From Sardinia Green to Barbie Pink you get it all, but this really takes the cake for expense: from 46,339 euros 48,794 euros depending on the colour (and we thought it came just in red but apparently you can get it in yellow, blue and silver as well).

We’ve got the Fiat 500, the Abarth 500 and now we have a tuned Abarth in the form of the Pogea Racing Abarth 500. This was in case you wanted your little 500 with a full 268 hp and 330 Nm of torque. Pogea Racing has based its model on the Ferrari Dealers Edition of the compact car, that is equipped with the 1.4 T-Jet engine.
The work sees an increase on the original 180 hp, although the Abarth 500 esseesse with 160 hp can also get to 270 hp with the same engine. The impressive specs have been achieved through modifications carried out directly on the engine and not the electronics. The engine gets a larger intercooler and sports injection, while the customer can choose between two different types of turbocompressor. A new inox stainless steel exhaust is included.
The Pogea Racing Abarth 500 has a new four-calliper braking system to cope with the new power, and an all-new suspension set-up. Carbon fibre features, leather interior, alloy wheels and Rosso Scuderia body tint from the Ferrari 430 Scuderia also feature. The Pogea Racing kit for the Abarth 500 costs about 3,400 euros.
The Abarth Punto Evo and Abarth 500C were the only models occupying the Abarth stand at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, but we think the Punto Evo and the SS certainly make up for the lack of anything else. The Punto Evo is equipped with the 1.4-litre Multiair ’standard’ engine with 165 hp, while the Abarth Punto SS model has 180 hp and more aggressive styling, including 18-inch alloy wheels and brake cooling outlets. The Abarth Punto Evo also debuts with new “manettino” feature in front of the gear stick, which manages the engine, brakes and steering modes in Sport and Normal.
The Abarth 500C is one very chic, hot little cabrio for your city ride, equipped with the 1.4 T-Jet with 140 hp. It’s on show in a black-white colour combo, which is the only alternative to the grey tint seen in the official Abarth 500C pics. It comes with two transmission options: the ‘Abarth Competizione’ five-speed gearbox, or the MTA electro-automatic with steering wheel paddles. According to the press conference, the Abarth 500C will also get its own SS version, but no further information was available. The Punto Evo and 500C will both be available on sale from May this year.
Move over Nick Reilly, there’s a new auto blog in town, this time from the guys at Neubauer. That’s right - you can get all your drooling done for Fiat group and Abarth models at the NDF Paris wordpress site, currently featuring a Fiat Punto Evo video and some lovely pics of a new Alfa Brera on the showroom floor.
In the pics here is an example of what we last saw from the guys - the Abarth 500 SS Speed Grey version. It has the impressive Abarth Essesse tuning kit with 165 hp and a special grey tint. They’ve probably already run out of these as only ten were planned for production, but check out the Neubauer blog for other news.
