Peugeot 408

Sometimes it is not necessary to wait too long in order to see a car. Not even its official presentation, as our friends from Forum Peugeot have demonstrated with these pictures of Peugeot 408 with no disguises at all. This means the car will probably be presented very soon in one of the major European motor shows. Since Geneva is getting so close, we bet on seeing it there, beside the 3008.

No info on 407 replacement has been disclosed so far, but you won’t have to be an expert to see the similarities between 408 and Citroën C5, especially the cars’ silhouettes. The resemblance is easily explainable by the use of the same platform in both cars, what will probably keep 408 dimensions pretty close to the ones presented by the mid-size sedan from Citroën, which are 4.78 m in lenght, 1.86 m in width, 1.45 m high and a wheelbase of 2.82 m.

Since sharing is a rule between Citroën and Peugeot, 408 shall also have the same engines used by C5, or else, three petrol engines (1.8-litre with 127 bhp, 2-litre with 143 bhp or 3-litre V6 with 215 bhp) and four diesel powerplants (2-litre with 110 bhp, 2.2-litre with 138 bhp, 2.2-litre with 173 bhp and 2.7-litre V6 with 208 bhp).
