And now we understand the need for a face lift, as this is one nasty-looking car. With the smooth sides, carbon roof and spoiler this is a Sport/Leicht union at its peak. Mercedes and Amg present the SL 65 Black Series, a limited series supercar destined to pick up on the sporting spirit of the defunct SLR.

Performance doesn’t even come close to the SL 65 Amg, with 0-100 chewed up in 3.9 seconds, and a maximum speed of 320 km/hr. This car is also much lighter than the muscular spider, with a 175kg reduction due to the use of the carbon fibre roof. 2045 kilos shed to 1870.

Other features include five-speed automatic transmission, 20-inch rear wheels, sports suspension and some serious braking system in case all that power and speed get a little scary. If you’re wondering how much it costs, so are we, but we’ll just say that only 200 units will be manufactured.
