The next generation Ford Galaxy could further increase in size, enhancing both interior space and passenger comfort. The new Ford Galaxy, as well as the new S-Max, will be based on the same platform as the Ford Mondeo and will be longer and wider than the current model. The increase in size will create more room for the occupants, without generating an excessive external volume, which could compromise the agility of the MPV in the city.
The new Ford Galaxy can accommodate up to seven people on three rows of seats and will offer extra leg room for the passengers sitting in the second and third rows. Ford designers will also widen the rear seats, making them even more spacious and comfortable when traveling at full load for long distances. An increase of the luggage compartment is also expected, although is still not clear at which ratio the space between passengers and boot will be assigned.
We also expect a new line-up of engines, which will help reduce fuel consumption and increase performance, and a review of the old units, such as the flagship 2.0-litre TDCi that offers both power and economy. The Ford Galaxy is expected to be unveiled at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
