The third generation SEAT Leon will be on display during the 2012 Paris Motor Show (29th September - 14th October) and will go on sale in late 2012. It will be the first model of a new family of cars based on the MQB modular platform. At launch, the Leon will be offered with a choice of diesel engines ranging from the 1.6-litre TDI (Ecomotive version-3.8 l/100km) and the 2.0-litre TDI, rated at 105 and 150 hp. From early 2013 there will also be a choice of petrol units: a 1.2-litre TSI with 86 and 105 hp, a 1.4-litre TSI with 122 hp and a 1.8-litre TSI with 180 hp, in addition to two further diesels: a 1.6-litre TDI with 90 hp and a 2.0-litre TDI with 184 hp. The transmissions available will be: the traditional five or six-speed manual gearbox and a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission.
