Lancia Flavia is the Italian interpretation of the Chrysler 200 Convertible, but fear not, it is a sleek and stylish car, full of carachter. It is not a supercar, though and doesn’t want to be one: it is a convertible designed for journeys, to drive along splendid panoramic views, for the outdoors, perfectly representing the Italian concept of “Dolce vita” and taking it easy. This is Flavia.
The car looks quite impressive with its large dimensions, softened by seemingly simple, but sculptural fluid lines: measuring 4.9 m in lenght, 1.8 m wide, 1.8 m in height with a wheelbase of 2.76 m. Flavia’s generous size provides excellent comfort and space to up to 4 passengers. The exterior of the convertible is carachterised by an original front-end featuring the Lancia badge that drops from the hood and covers part of the large front grille, as well as chrome plated mirrors, handles, exhaust system and horizontal bar that connects the rear LED lights. The stylish design is further enhanced by 18-inch alloy wheels and Bright White and Mineral Grey body colours, which will later be joined by Deep Cherry, Silver, Black and Blackberry shades.
The interior of the new Flavia is rich and refined, covered in leather and quality materials. The new console features the brilliantly comprehensive high-tech Uconnect infotainment system, with 6.5 ” touch screen, voice control to navigate through different functions, iPhone integrated system, Boston Acoustic Sound System with 6 speakers and 40 GB storage capacity.
Under the hood we find a “WGE” 2.4-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine with power output rated at 170 hp at 6,000 rpm and maximum torque of 220 Nm at 4,500 rpm. It features a 6-speed automatic transmission with AutoStick sequential function, with manual gear selection. The new convertible accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.8 seconds with top speed of 195 km/h, fuel consumption in the combined cycle stands at 9.4 litres/100km with CO2 emissions equal to 221 g/km. The Lancia Flavia convertible is currently sold on the Italian market at a price of 37,900 Euros (around £ 29,750).
