Audi is considering the production of a new sports MPV. The news has been reported by Autocar, which added that Audi found the concept of traditional MPVs rather boring and wanted to give their own interpretation to this type of vehicles.
The future Audi MPV could have six or seven seats, and a design similar to the Ford S-Max. Venturing into such unexplored market would be a whole new experience for Audi: the only MPV-like car produced by the German brand in recent years was the A2, which had a very poor reception from the public.
It is not yet clear whether a concept will be created or if the project is still in the decisional phase, nor the timing before the release of the first images. Audi is also considering to launch a two-wheel solution for urban transport in collaboration with Ducati: the German carmaker will be using the Italian brand’s knowledge to develop a new scooter or motorcycle, that can rival BMW and Smart.
