Lexus is planning to launch the LF-LC in 2015; after a long decision-making process it seems that the Japanese manufacturer has approved the development of the sportscar. Displayed at the last Detroit Auto Show, the Lexus LF-LC shows a futuristic and attractive design, with clean lines and a specific study of aerodynamics, which blends with the new style language of the brand’s new models.
As reported by Autonews, the car will go into production within three years and will enter the sports coupe market currently dominated by German manufacturers. Still no news about the car’s engine and transmission, but it is very likely that Lexus could opt for a hybrid system.
The engine will be placed under the front hood of the car and will transmit power to the rear wheels. The production version presents a 2 +2 seaters setup, like the concept. Lexus might decide to use the same platform of the current GS model, which offers excellent driving performance and handling. The Lexus LF-LC might have a target price of around £80,000.
